  1. Just seen the episode on DVR. That was a very nice 72/73 Inka 2002.

I do realize that many of us on this forum can identify with the 2002 owner when we get questions about our cars. It is quite common to hear that people who approached me also had bonds with 2002's in the past, either directly or indirectly through a friend or relative. Liked his answer that you can always get another 2002 :)

Nice to see more little tv exposure of our 2002's

  2. Was browsing on Direct TV channel 281 for upcoming Formula 1 race this weekend and noticed the following program for Saturday March 25 on 07:00 to 07:30pm:

"Garage Dreams - A BMW 2002 only gets better with time: Danny is a man about town with his mean mix of machines"

Interested who Danny is and completely agree with the statement that "a BMW 2002 only gets better with time" :)

Sorry if this was posted before it did not show up on my simple search.

  3. Welcome Jordan,

We sure would like to meet you with your 02. You are correct that we do not often but when we meet it is fun.

Perhaps best time to meet is to come out at BMW CCa Houston coffeee meet in the Heights, see website http://www.houston-bmwcca.com/?page_id=6172

I think there are 20-25 2002's in Houston, the trick is to get them all together :)

    All the best,

  4. Agree with Driv3r's comments. Since joining this forum many years ago I read and understood from previous enthusiasts that there was indeed an unwritten cordial code on purchasing parts on this forum. As a result, I have respected these rules for as long as I have participated in the fantastic forum that has bailed my out with technical challenges more than once.

I once had an experience where the buyer had a part of sale on this forum for a couple weeks. They price was high and no interest among us. Reached out to make a reasonable offer, seller decided to throw the dice and go to eBay instead of taking my reasonable offer. At the end I won the auction on eBay for less money than my initial offer.

Another thought to add is that the potential buyer should not think that with a "first call" automatically gives the "right" to buy a part. They have to agree with seller's terms and pay within a couple hours in my opinion, this way the sale goes smooth and a positive experience for all involved.

Good from Driv3r to bring this up and provoke a discussion among us :) In agreement or not it is a good topic to share your thoughts on.

  5. Hi Jim,

Sorry to hear your UUC shipping story. Am currently waiting for third attempt from them to receive poly endlinks. Keep on calling, select #3 and speak to Rob. He is in customer service. Good luck. JP

  8. Hi All,

To follow up on the previous conversation. Mine departed Holland on Nov 21 and is still in transit to USA. So far it has not arrived in Customs. Looked at the Post.NL website and they assume 4 to 7 days transit time?

Does anyone encounter this similar delay (In Transit) with their shipment?

All the best and thanks to Captiain for making this a reality. Many people have great ideas and it comes down to simple talk but Captain makes it happen :)

  9. Fellow 02'ers,

Isn't it something that 02's always seems to pop up in the strangest places. In my case growing up in Europe, working and living the USA and now traveling all over South America, 02's have always crossed my path......more than once.

Since last week I am 02'less which felt a bit weird to have an empty garage since 2006. One is at BMW West Houston for a showroom Christmas theme with classic BMW and the other one at Terry and Deb Saythers 02 temple in Austin for repairs that are beyond my skills.

When i walked in the streets of Quito for a business meeting, suddenly in the corner of my eyes something looked very familiar. A nice 74-75 02 was parked opposite side of the street.

Looked very nice for it's age, no visible rust and still pretty standard. Had no opportunity to locate the owner but it made my day to see another 02.

  10. Gentleman Mac Arthur Davis,

Please respect the rules of this forum. As of this moment I am first in line and have communicated to forum member Willy02 to purchase these and some other parts.

I am waiting on the reply from forum member Willy02 and will close this deal with him. Overbidding is what you can do on eBay not on this forum.

    Respectfully,

  11. Walloth & Nesch has them on sale this week.

Check their website and look under "weekly offer"

I have purchased parts for over 10 years from this German provider and am very pleased with their fast shipping, quality products and good customer service
