  3. the speakers are 4x6 Infinity Reference series they are a 4x6 rectangle with two speakers inside

  6. What is the fastest you have ever gone in a 2002? I have gone 80! and would not want to go much faster without a 5 speed and anything much the stock setup I have now for suspension Chet
  7. The setup i was planning on was bilstein HD with IE stage two springs. That is the setup that jeremy over at Ireland Suggested for me. I also drove a friends 2002, it has that setup and I was pleased with it. how would these springs and shocks compare to that setup? and I will do more research thanks, chet

  10. I have a possible deal on some Bilstien sport struts I was wondering how harsh the ride is compared to the HD setup?
  11. thank you very much, I looked at the valve and it seems to be operating, but it may be stripped like you said so I will check out the valve out of the car, if it is stripped is there a fix for this. The heater valves I have found are $150 plus and I would like to avoid replacement. thanks again chet
  12. My heater is not working and I heard from another member that it may be the heater valve that is on the engine side of the fire wall. is there any way to fix this if it is the problem? can I rebuild it? chet
  13. I went up to santa barbara last weekend. It ran great, I have no complaints. The alternator and the starter are new. It has pertronix, and I think I will put in a 320 radiator first. thanks for the advice on the rear end, I wil hold off on the diff until I get back. the trip is still in conceptual stages, so I will have at least month before I leave, probably more depending on school. thanks for all the advice. chet
  14. so I want to drive my 71' across the country to pick up my friend in New York, and then back to CA. I have good compression, and the cooling system is very tight when I tested its seals with pressure. it is essentially stock with an upgraded dual throat weber. My question what do you guys think I should check and replace before my trip, other than oil and coolant and all that, are there any lines that I should replace? and tuning? maybe a valve job? I also plan on putting in the five speed and 3.91 rear end before take off. thanks chet P.S. I will be posting pics and a miniature journal on the faq for those interested, thanks in advance
  15. I heard that I can use a 02 sensor bung in the header to tune the carburetor more accurately. anyone know where do buy and where to place the bung? I have a weber 38/38 and stock headers and exhaust also does anyone have pictures of speakers mounted underneath the dash? thanks, chet my car is coming together better because of everyone who has helped me thanks to all of you

  17. so i have this hissing noise coming out of the engine compartment, I found that I have a brake in the line pictured. do I need to get this part OEM, or can I use a braided line that fits. thanks chet
  18. does anyone have pics of all the evolutions of gauge clusters. I have a 71' with the wood surround on the cluster. I also want to build a center console with guages, I would like to find oil temp/pressure, voltage, an outside temp, and a clock. Does VDO make all of these or would I need to mix and match? does anyone have any idea where I can get them cheap? thanks chet

  20. OK, so I think I got the carb dialed in. Now I would like to work on timing. I bought a timing light. Does anyone have a step by step on this? I am having trouble with the instruction manuel. thanks

  23. thank you for the diagrams you may be right, I have just exhausted everything else and thought I would try that. I have had trouble with the idle. I have it cranked all the way down and it still sits at 1200-1500. I changed the fuel filter and cleaned all the ines so I know it has fule available to the pump but dont know where to go from there. I also want to do it myself, although I find myself itching at Ireland Engineerings number more and more thanks again chet
  24. I took my 71' all stock but the Weber 38/38 carb with a cannon manifold. I took it over to 2002 ad and they adjusted it but it is still hesitating. I think it is the float adjustment but I have never done it before. Does anyone have a step by step an how to do it? with the gap on the floats? thanks, chet
