    Wow, very clear answer Rob. Sorry to chime in, but it was easy to click on your reply button. My parts showed up a few weeks ago in perfect order. My wife then proceeded to back up into my nephews / parts transporters Subaru. Actually just a minor scrape with a quick remount of the plastic trim pieces... It did put a excellently nice scrap on her Escalade though.!! Thanks again

    Mike, This is more a question vs a statement. Is the color of your 76 "Agave" ? Maybe someone on the FAQ has the answer. I too have a dark green car I believe to be " Agave "

    I had a buddy of mine go to this wrecking yard and looked for these cars. I believe he found the car in the first pic. He could not find the car with the hood and the trim pieces ( second pic ). By chance, do you remember in which part of the yard did you see the the car in question ?

    I live in Kingsburg. Are their any other 02 owners in the area ? Bavarian Autohaus in Visalia is good, Dave has the knowledge and experience when it comes to 02's, but he likes working on the newer Bimmers. He get's paid well for his work... I want to get a chance to see a few more cars up close to get ideas about my on going resto. Let's meet up sometime.

    Anyone know a experienced 02 restoration shop / person near Fresno, Ca ? I understand SoCal and NorCal have alot of good shops. I don't want to have to drive that far ! Also, anyone running a BMP Zender front spoiler ? If so, do you like it ?

    What cam would a stock 1980 320is run ? Would it upgrade / add performance to my current 75' 02 engine ?

    Not to start any arguments, but what would be the most unique year and model for an 02. Maybe a 74 Tii ?? . Only built for 1 year right with the injection and the square tail lights. Although, by the mid 70's BMW was pumping out a few cars I would imagine. Maybe the earlier model Ti's are the rarest ?

    I have as well a 80 320is parts car of which many parts are destined for a 75 02. I have heard the rear brakes are an upgrade, didn't know about the front brakes from the 320is being superior. I think Im gonna use the alternator as well in a 74 Tii, any suggestions or direction to problems I might encounter ? . Any other suggestions for parts off the 320 is ?

    I appreciate the info. One question, I understand why the " L " light is ON when the car is running, alerting to a electrical problem, but why would the light stay on when the key is out of the ignition ? All this achieves is a dead battery in a few hours time. What were the BMW boys thinking when this was engineered ?

    1974 Tii electrical problem... The low voltage light only goes on , and stays on, when the engine / key is off. The L light goes off when the engine is running. The car starts and runs fine, therefore I believe I am geting a god charge to the battery, although I have not ran the car any real length of time to drain the battery. I do not believe the problem lies with the 3 wire plug to the alternator, or ground wires to the battery or frame. Of course I can get the light to turn off when I disconnect the battery cables. I may have a short circuit some where... Help !

    My low voltage light issue is a bit strange. The low voltage light only goes on when the engine / key is off. The L light goes off when the key / engine are on. The car starts and runs fine. I have disconnected the battery cables knowing the L light will drain the battery in a day or so. Sorry to intrude on the thread, maybe our problems are similar

    Blunt, Any idea what the original paint color is on your 02 project ?

    If the person CANT pay and some unexpected crises happened to him, give the option of taking back the car and refunding the downpayment, He may need the downpayment cash back more than the car. If he declines that option, start firing salvos.

    From my limited experience, the E21 seat would fit, but crimps the arm rest pockets in the rear seat area.. The E21 seat appears both longer, taller and wider than the stock 02 seat. It just didn't fit right for me without some minor mods...If you are going to uphoster Im sure a bit of trimming could be done to make the job look sanitary. You need to get some one who has done the complete swap to comment and educate us both. Their is a spring loaded metal tab located at the bottom rear doorside of the Recaro front seat that lifts up the backrest. I found this out on my seats that don't work either after working the back rest knob a million or so times. lol

    I too need info ont eh back seat issue. I have tried to fit a E21 seat in the back area space of my 75 02 and it's a tight fit Maybe their is some trimming required.

    Yes, I need the left rear seat belt unit if it is still availoable.
