IF LYNX uses the same specs as Redline, a standard out of the box Spanish 40 DCOE 151 comes with:
30 main Venturi
4.5 aux Venturi
115 main jet
F11 Em tube
200 air correction jet
45F9 idle jet
40 pump jet
50 pump exh
1.75 needle valve
I have a modified engine with a 45 DCOE 152 so my numbers are different.

Since I have not installed an oxygen sensor I need to check the color of the plugs to make sure I have it tuned correctly.
Not too lean, not rich.

Thanks Earl!

Doza, Have you checked your plugs?
I have to wait for it to stop raining so I can check the plugs at various speeds to make sure the mixture is correct.
I have not hooked up the cold start mechanism yet so for the first start my wonderful wife held it open from the passenger side. The car started immediately and I set the idle up a little so it would keep running.
It was Wonderful!
FYI - My bride is a wonderful helper. She helped me start my mis-timed ‘74 with a 304 cam and twin 40 DCOE’s on a cold winter day. She did not move from the drivers side of the car when the stacks were belching flame and got extra brownie points for asking If the engine was supposed to be belching flame out of the stacks. I explained that the timing was advanced too far and it was not supposed to do that. She is a keeper!

I installed my Lynx manifold and 45 DCOE yesterday.
It works great right out of the box.
TEP did a great job setting up the carb for my 2.2 MM engine.
The throttle response is amazing. After install and warm-up, all I had to do was set the mixture and idle.
Highly Recommend!Idle jet 60f9
main jet 155
Emoulsion tube F16
I need to drive the car some to get color on the plugs to check tune.

Darn, I complained when I had to pay $60 a piece almost 20 years ago. I wish I had bought a second set when I had the chance.

To adwil2002,
What did it cost to have your trim pieces polished and coated?

In many ways, I would rather pull the engine than the heater box.
The engine is just heavier.
Pulling the heater box is not hard, it just takes time.
As I recall the heater box seems to come out easier I’d you move it towards the drivers side. That way the control cables come out easier. Then you can refurbish everything at once.

That’s what I thought.
I heard about someone having a shop replace the straight lower hose fitting with an angled one from another radiator so that may be an option.

Do the high flow radiators have straight or angled exit pipes?
I have an AC compressor I am trying to get around.

The heater box is a pain to get out, but the advantage is that you can fix everything while replacing the brushes or motor. There is even a add in the Roundel for someone that will rebuild your heater box for you.

I second that recommendation, but order new safety bolts. You do not want those to break. That is why they are Safety Wired.

I have the IE Volvo brake upgrade and have been running E30 14” wheels for about 10 years. I also have a 14 in spare but am considering going back to a 13” spare with a narrow tire or a Mini or Miata temp spare to fit in the well for a flat floor.

I had a 304 cam in my ‘74.
It was very drivable in all types of conditions and a LOT of FUN!

Good idea!

Makes sense.
Where did you mount your gauge.
Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -
Thanks Vespa Guy.
As I said, my space is pretty tight next to the XMSN, but I guess I could get a sensor in there.
Where did you mount your gage?

I just looked at the downtime collector pipe and space looks awfully tight to get an oxygen sensor vertically between the XMSN hump and the 5 Speed XMSN.
Can the oxygen sensor be mounted horizontally?

With Hagerty, you must have another car as your daily driver and you must have a lockable garage for your classic.
Hagerty encourages you to drive your car for excursions, club events and maintenance, while other classic car insurance companies limit you to car club events and parades.
Hagerty really wants you to enjoy your car, not turn it into a trailer queen.

I have the IE Volvo brake upgrade on my ‘75 02 and per IE’s recommendation left the dust shields off.
Works great!

The Bavarian Autosport covers are good.
They used to have a lifetime warranty on their ultimate covers that I have redeemed a couple of times over the years.
