How much castor can you get with the adjustable rods and with the extra castor what happens to the bushes in the lower control arm ? Or have you moved the inner mount for the lower control arm forward a bit to compensate ?

Layshaft and/or input shaft bearings.Get a 5 speed.

What do you meen by beefier. Do you meen stronger,thicker,what ? Do they change the castor ??

The bushes on the front of the castor strut/rod have a different part number on a 2002 turbo (same as 4 door NK sedan) than all other 2002`s.
Does anyone know what the difference is ?? Apparently the normal 02 bushes will fit !!

I think i need twice the length than stock.So about 2" of thread sticking out of the hub !! I don`t think an extra 3/8" will be enough.
Is it possible to convert the hubs to screw in studs ?? Anybody done it ??

Is there a cheaper alternative to the $8.00 each ARP wheel studs that IE sells ? Anyone converted their car to screw in studs ?

Thanks esty.By `bog` i meant plastic body filler.I have a few small stone dents in the front panel and a rust repair to be welded in also.I will get the metal as smooth as possible then `bog` over it and sand back a couple of times to really get it flat.
So do you think black urethane would be good on all the other bits.Sounds like it`s tough.
Colour is non metalic,sahara 006.
P.S. love the Al blog.I reckon the business name says it all. "seems" perfect !!!

i will be using epoxy over the bare metal and then putting the bog over that.Then more epoxy over the bog.I will follow the instructions in a book called "restore your ride".
What i really want to know is the uethane any good ? Seems like less actual spraying than the base/clear.I`ll be doing all work my self,for better or worse.
What about xmembers and subframes,struts,trailing arms,ect. All will be sand blasted to bare metal before getting epoxy then a black of some type.I guess they were originally NOT gloss black ??

I will be repainting my sahara the original colour.Should i use a base/clear system or single stage urethane ? I will be painting the engine bay with the same colour and type of paint as i will use on the rest of the car.The engine bay (and all the rest of the paint) needs to be pretty durable.I don`t want to have to pull the engine,ect any time soon to repaint it.
Also what type paint should i use on suspension arms,sub frames,ect ? Is original a `semi gloss` ?

Can you believe that my sahara RHD 2000ti NK sedan was built on the same day as your 1600-2 !!! Mine ended up in Australia !!

That was a rare car !!! Do you remember the Vin ?? There was only ever 420 RHD 2000ti`s built.Mine is number 318,built december 20th,1967.
I think that the dark brown interior was almost standard with the sahara paint.A mate of mine over here has a `69 2000 sedan in sahara which has the same interior.

Yep,it`s definately factory sahara.Confirmed by the BMW archives.I have been told by a guy on the NK board that sahara is "very rare" on a 2000ti.The man at my paint shop says his catalog lists sahara as starting in `67.Maybe mine was one of the 1st.
The interior is very dark,probably a chocolate type colour.I`ll have to take a picture of it.Here`s a picture of the outside of the car.Also on ebay.de there is a door in sahara with the same colour interior(as far as i can tell) as mine.

My `67 2000ti is sahara with a dark brown interior and a slightly lighter carpet.
Does anyone know what the name is of the interior colour.IE what did the factory call the dark brown ???

The engine on an E21 parts car i bought (for the 5 speed) has around 160psi cold and 165 hot.
I think if all 4 cyls are similar it should be OK to drive around for a while but definately it`s no race motor. It`s probably half worn out.

Think i saw somewhere that they came out on some early (E12) 5series cars with the M10 engine.
These days i think a weber downdraft would be much better.

Thanks for the info guys.I will try my full mechanical ti dizzy in the engine one of these days and see if that makes any difference.The dizzy in the e21 seems to get too much advance at mid revs and wants to ping,retarding it so that it no longer pings kills the low end.Maybe the advance springs are weak ??

The rotor button in the dizzy in my `77 E21 parts car rotates clockwise.Is this the same as a 2002 ? real OEM lists the same part numbers up to 7/77 as the earlier cars.Maybe it`s after 7/77 that the dizzy rotates the opposite direction ? My parts car has the early mechanical type EFI and a points dizzy.
