  1. They are the same design, and as long as both are E12 or both are 121, they will fit, but the 121 had the larger intake valves in the tii only.
  2. I can get Deb to maybe two car things a month, and with Ofest coming up, I guess I'm done for september. Are you still considering a Watkins Glen trip?
  3. for my morning adrenaline shot lately, I look up a 2002 part and check the current list price. Today I looked up a left roundie quarter panel, and found the new list is $1260! Catch up, realoem($930) although there are none here, there's 532 at AG, so it's not a scarcity issue. I hope my collection of parts will last my lifetime, I can't afford any more!
  4. in that area theres no reason to be stuck in a hotel, as you go west from there, you can visit the original McDonalds in DesPlaines, and at Woodfield mall in Scaumburg, theres gotta be a hundred restaurants, Or catch an El train to Chicago from the station a block from the convention center.
  5. most events i've been to revolve around beer, Our Ofest caravan plans to overnight in Cleveland so we can visit Great Lakes tasting room MMMMMM, beer!
  6. Well, not everything, someone else took second and third places. Great time had by all, thanks to Ben Thonsai for hosting the shop party, and to those who came great distances, Joel, Matt, Steve, Nathan, Tim, and those not so distant as well, it was a great weekend!
  7. Sorry, not that much on windycitybmw.com but here's the scoop; 8/31 from 12:00 to 4:00, at Bill Jacobs vintage reserve, which is one guys collection of cool cars, boats, automobilia, etc. west of Chicago at 7501 s quincy st, willowbrook il 60527 show, swap, BS just show up! It's free!
  8. Gaskets are the same, and you probably have flat top pistons, the piano tops as used in US 74s would interfere with the 121 head
  9. in Swabisch Hall, and went with some local Wurth guys to the Cannstatter Wasen, that was a blast, we also went to a Stuttgart soccer game, way different than our football fans. Wish I was there! 2010 is the 200th ann. of Oktoberfest, should be some party!
  10. driving a FF, he says he approached a turn which displayed waving yellow flags, after the apex he saw a driver seat complete with driver in the middle of the track, it came from another open wheeled car, he was ok, but this was before cars disintegrated purposely to dissipate crash forces
  11. if you can get it started Sunday, come to Willowbrook for the vintagefest, all the local gurus will be there, one of us should have a starter we could try if all else fails If you have token voltage at the starter while cranking, there is a bad connection in that circuit, could be the ground or B+ cable, the accessory power and body ground cables can give good supply to the lights, ignition, etc, so checking the lights while cranking doesnt help, you might try bypassing the cables with jumper cables from -terminal to the block and +terminal to the starter main terminal
  12. I tii'd to work today, and parked it with the 335s up front, lots of gawkers and drive by double takes! But what's aking my throttle hand itch is the steady stream (apx 1000/hr in unofficial sample) of harleys heading north on us41 past my open window towards the 105th celebration in Milwaukee this weekend. I'll be joining them as soon as I can blow this popsicle stand!
  13. The first proposed Chicago convoy overnights in Cleveland, any other thoughts?
  14. both ways, showing fitment of 68-73, only the left is available, I remember buying ambers in the 80's, my 68 was rearended and fixed in the early 70s, it has one red and one amber because reds were nla then, my 72 was redone in 1990, and it has fresh looking red ones, not sure of the source. It's fun finding something thought lost forever, but right now I really want new amber ones!
  15. I got a room at the Colonial in WG, there are four 02s in our group, word on the street is there's others already registered there, the hotel owner is aware of his status as 02 central.
  16. I ordered what was shown as a 72 lense, it came with a red center, no other active lense numbers are shown, anybody know?
  17. I just checkd the current list and couldn't believe it! I should have bought a bunch back when I could afford them
  18. http://chicago.citysearch.com/profile/map/3611932/willowbrook_il/bill_jacobs_vintage_reserve.html here's a citysearch map link
