Thanks to a recent heart attack, I'm having to speed up a long-planned downsize to a much smaller house and must clear out a 40 year accumulation of parts (there won’t be space to move them to a new place, and there are medical expenses to offset as well). Because of the wide variety of parts involved, listings have been posted on multiple web boards (Pelican Parts, The Samba, Steve’s Nova Site, 2002 FAQ, etc) and I may not have time to check every board for responses several times per day. Parts have been priced on a “best guess” basis – if you see something of interest but feel the asking price is too high, please forward an offer – everything listed has to go.

  6. If anyone knows Greggotii or has a means of contacting him, please let him know that I'm trying to reach him - he left a response post to one of my parts listings in the classifieds, but I didn't see it until a week after he posted the response. I left him a PM a few days ago, but haven't had a response so far........
  7. BMW Motorad cloisonne badges Two 70 mm badges, one 60 mm badge These are high quality, heavy brass badges, chrome plated, with the vintage BMW Motorad (motorcycle) motorsport roundel in fired enamel - there are (or were) three sizes of these badges available (70, 60, and 45 mm); they were sold as replacements for the standard BMW roundel on motorcycle fuel tanks, etc. The 70 mm sized badges are the correct size to replace the hood roundel on 2002’s; if I remember correctly, the 60 mm one is about the same size as a 2002 rear panel roundel - they look terrific on '02's, especially on modified cars. These are new and have never been installed – they do NOT have mounting studs or holes, and they’re heavy enough that I wouldn’t trust adhesives to hold them in place – it takes some machine work, but the best option is to make a retaining ring with studs to bolt the badge in place. $20 per badge, $50 for all three – buyer pays shipping -- SOLD -- BMW Vintage & Classic Car Club of America cloisonné badge This is the original VCCCA badge which has been out of production for several years (the replacement is a different design, and the club name has been changed, dropping “Vintage” from the title) – new, still in the original sealed plastic sleeve. 70 x 90 mm, high quality, heavy brass badge, gold plated with fired enamel cloisonne graphics, two 2 mm mounting holes. I was told that I bought the last three of this design badge the club had when they were purchased several years ago – this is the last one I have. -- SOLD -- NOTE: Please e-mail responses / inquires to oldcarguy6547@gmail.com rather than responding to this post or sending a PM. 13. Update - for those who wanted to see what shape the original factory vinyl was in under the sheepskins, I've posted a couple of additional photos with the sheepskins removed. The patches that are visible in the added photos were sewn into the seats to protect the fresh foam from chafing when the sheepskins were installed - there were no split seams or other damage to the center panels (either back or bottom on either seat) so there were no repairs made to those panels. Pair of E21 Recaros & high-end custom fitted “Ramshead” sheepskins with mounting brackets & factory headrests – ready to drop into an ‘02. Seats completely rebuilt in late spring of 2002 (foam replaced, new Aardvark suspension straps, etc, vinyl upholstery seams resewn and damaged areas patched). High density foam wedge added under bottom cushion to raise the seating surface about 1” (I’m 6’2” & weighed about 235 at that time - the bottom cushion was too low and the seats were too narrow across the rear of the bolsters for me to be comfortable for long periods), foam can easily be lifted out. Custom fitted Navy blue sheepskins installed by Ramshead in Sonoma CA & seats installed in my ’69 sunroof prior to driving to O’fest in Colorado in summer 2002 (sheepskins cost a bit less than $700) . Car was driven about 14K miles after seats installed & was always garaged; seats removed before car was sold about 3 years ago; have been stored covered in my home office since. Sheepskins are a near perfect color match to ’02 navy blue vinyl (very dark blue) – would be best in a car with that color interior, although they probably wouldn’t look out of place in a black interior, either. Prefer to sell seats and sheepskins together, might separate. Please note: Black vinyl upholstery under the sheepskins is the original E21 factory material that’s been repaired and patched – it’s in serviceable condition, but the appearance is not such that most people would be willing to use the seats with the sheepskins removed without replacing the upholstery. $850 obo complete - local pickup preferred, delivery possible in the greater Sacramento / SF Bay area - buyer pays crating & shipping if shipped Please e-mail responses / inquires to oldcarguy6547@gmail.com rather than responding to this post or sending a PM. 15. Many of the parts listed over the last couple of weeks sold but some did not (probably because I guessed high on pricing), so prices for those unsold items are being revised significantly lower and the listings reposted. As mentioned before, due to an impending move / downsize, all of these parts must be sold so I'll be happy to look at offers.
  16. This is one of two copies made from an original factory manual so I could have a "working" manual (with the pages in page protectors) so the original factory manual could be protected from damage. The manual was copied on a commercial Xerox copier in two-sided page format; copy is very clean and sharp. Unfortunately, shipping to Canada is rather expensive - appears the least expensive option is via FedEx international ground. Per the FedEx web site, cost should be about $39 US, but that could change depending on the delivery address - if you think you want to proceed, probably the best option will be to send me the delivery address & phone number (send to oldcarguy6547@gmail.com) and I'll get an exact shipping amount from FedEx
  17. Original factory manuals in factory binders: · 2002 (through 1973 model year) – two volumes, excellent condition with original section dividers $175 obo, buyer pays shipping · E21 / 320i – U.S. through 10/81 - one volume, good condition, some damage to binder corners, some repaired page tears, no section dividers $75 obo, buyer pays shipping Duplicated factory manuals – all are first generation copies taken directly from original manuals · 2002 manual (electronic copy in PDF format on disc, scanned from factory 2 volume manual above $25 per disc postage included · E21 (U.S. 320i) – duplicated from factory manual above - boxed, not hole punched for binder $35 obo, buyer pays shipping · E28 524td – 535i / US – Supplement 3, 11/85 - boxed, not hole punched for binder $35 obo, buyer pays shipping Most of these manuals are fairly heavy – although shipping via USPS “Media Mail” is generally the least expensive option, to insure safe delivery in undamaged condition shipping via FedEx Ground is recommended for the original factory manuals NOTE: Please e-mail responses / inquires to oldcarguy6547@gmail.com rather than responding to this post or sending a PM. 18. Quick, easy, cheap and temporary (no holes, no modifications to the console) - two cut down 3" black ABS pipe fittings glued together with a single bottom made of flat ABS sheet
  19. I've gpt a fair amount of E21 stuff to dispose of, and the boards I used to visit seem to have all either gone dark, or are virtually dead - no new posts, no activity at all. If anyone knows where the 1st gen 3 series guys hang out, I'd appreciate knowing.
  20. Used on early M20 small sixes as installed in Euro 320/6 and 323 models through the early 1980’s When doing M20 swaps into 2002’s, one of the biggest hurdles is squeezing the longer six into an engine bay designed for a four cylinder – using this distributor eliminates the extra length of the cam-driven distributor on the front of the head, saving a couple of critical inches. This distributor came out of a low mileage ’80 or ’81 323 and is in excellent condition – includes the short jack shaft with the matching distributor drive gear on the inner end and the oil pump drive shaft that plugs into the bottom of the distributor shaft below the drive gear. To the best of my knowledge, all M20 engines have a distributor bore low on the left (driver’s) side of the block (closed off with a plug) that will accept this unit with the proper jack shaft installed. 323’s ran on an early version of Motronic (Motronic Basic) so the distributor’s electronics should plug right into similar era Motronic systems $50 obo, buyer pays shipping NOTE: Please e-mail responses / inquires to oldcarguy6547@gmail.com rather than responding to this post or sending a PM. 22. Great retrofit for 2002s – mounting points are the same as 2002 visors, slightly larger surface area and the extended inner end helps close up the open spot above the inside rear view mirror when the visors are down. Excellent vinyl (woven texture), no rips or tears, vanity mirrors have no discoloration or delamination of the silvering, good foam. 23. Haven't seen a PM from you - if you don't mind, please send further messages to the e-mail address I'm using to keep track of these transactions (oldcarguy6547@gmail.com) - I've got a lot of parts listings out on multiple web boards, I can't monitor all of them constantly, and I'd hate to miss a message because it's sitting in PM in-box I haven't had a chance to check. Thanks
