My 74 wipers wouldn't shut off. Ended up being the relay under the dash
dlm ny country
I was also told that by a reliable source, just haven't checked it out yet.

Gurmail,
I look forward to seeing your sweet looking 1600 in person. I'll be back to the central CA coast (Pismo Beach/AG area) in mid OCT. Hopefully you'll bring your 1600 to the So Cal Vintage BMW show to Woodley Park, Van Nuys CA on 15 OCT. Just watch for details about the show in the coming months on this forum. I'm planning on flying into LA, picking up one of my cars from storage and being at the show.
G-Man
Gordon, they moved the date to October 29th, you have more time to get back from the "Sandbox". A caravan from the Central coast would be cool.

Mine has been doing that for years. I just keep pulgging and unplugging the wire near the firewall. Sort of a pain, but it doesn't rain that much here anyway. Hard to do if it starts to rain while you are driving though. Good luck..
i believe that i'd put a toggle switch or push button switch in the line so i could turn them on without having to fidget under the dash...just hanging from under the dash would be easier...and quicker on/off
Thanks, Esty...you are right, but I should really just take the time to dig into the problem and fix them for good. Not raining now, guess I will wait.

Lots of great ideas to try. Thanks you guys!
Let us know what you find. Mine has been doing that for years. I just keep pulgging and unplugging the wire near the firewall. Sort of a pain, but it doesn't rain that much here anyway. Hard to do if it starts to rain while you are driving though. Good luck..

E21 320i retrospect with photos of low mileage Henna Red 82 320iS.
Don't miss out on this one. I can't wait to read it rather than thumbing thru it.
I agree, I thought this issue would be a "keeper". Got to park next to that E21 at the Monterey Legends of the Autobahn last year. (I got 1st, he got 2nd in class)

Yes, I agree they were great pictures and worth the time. Unfortunately, they were 2010's meet and I couldn't find my car anywhere. 2011 was also a great time.

Here are a few pictures of Eileen and I in our touring on last weeks Vintage Rally. A little tricky as instructions were in MPH and the touring is KPH But we had a ball
Here is my solution to the KPH to MPH dilemma....
Garmin just sucks right onto the speedo.

Great pictures....Tourings "Rule". Pretty fancy company you were running with. Share with us the "Details". Looked like a very fun weekend. Did every Porsche driver get "special" gloves to check their oil. 02 driver can check oil bare handed....
Congrats on your winnings..

Steve,
It was great finally meeting you! Looking forward to next year already!
Me too, maybe you will have all your lugnuts by then.......j/k
Here is my last shot of your old car before it left the state....

Very enjoyable trip to BayArea02 and thanks to organizers for a great meeting. Fun to meet up with old friends and meet new ones. Very hospitable group. 700 trouble free miles and home again.
Here are some random pics including the drive from SouthBay to Brisbane, and Norm's success in landing "Jaws". Part of the convoy up reminded me of scenes from "Mad Max" with all the 02's buzzing around some of the bigger Detroit Iron.

4:11 diff and KM speedo, I always feel like I am speeding. Enhances the thrill of driving. Gonna have 5 hours of that today Santa Barbara to San Jose at 4K to 5K RPM.

here is the link to SoCalVintage thread http://www.bmw2002faq.com/component/option,com_forum/Itemid,50/page,viewtopic/t,358129/
If you get here early, call my cell and I will meet you earlier. Or, if you are running late, we will find a way for you to catch the group somewhere on the 101. Just call my cell.
Should be a fun couple of days. See you SoCal caravaners in Santa Barbara, and everyone else in Brisbane.

First Santa Barbara meeting point details:
I will try to be in the Carls Jr Parking lot as early as 11:30am Friday. It is right off the freeway at the SR154 turnoff (San Marcos Pass) as you reach the signal at the top of the offramp, turn right (State St.) then right again in the 2nd driveway and park in the Carl's Jr. Parking lot. McDonalds across the street, gas stations nearby. I will come up with more SB to SJ caravan details tomorrow. Try to get here as soon as possible, I would like to leave as close to Noon as we can, leaves more time for fun.
-
Everyone that is trying to connect in SB, email me through the FAQ with your cell # and I will send you my cell phone # for last minute coordination.
-
So early! I'll try.
They are not leaving until 8:30 or 9:00, you should make it by then, it will be fun.
-
Any predictions on the weather this weekend. Should we bring cold beer or Hot Irish Coffee.
Norm
Cold beer either way!
+1

Time to start checking in for a head count now. Some of us are staying at the Staybridge Suites in San Jose near the airport. Daniel has invited us for appetizers at his Habana restaurant in San Jose Friday evening. There will be a meet up with the other South Bay guys at Hobees in Cupertino Saturday AM for a caravan up to Brisbane.
The sooner we leave Santa Barbara before noon, the better. 5 hrs to San Jose without detours. Let us know your timing and situation, so we can maximize this event. I will pick a convenient location to gather here in SB. Might even be my house.
Email or post and we will fine-tune the plan.
BTW I will be returning home on Saturday afternoon, If someone wants to join the return lap.
-
Great... Some of us will be staying in San Jose. Easy jump to Hobees. When will you be leaving Hobees?
Santa Barbara anyone?
