So the task that awaits is to create a tribute to the 'pig-cheeked' Alpina racers of the early 70's. Matt McGinn of Sports Car Restoration and I have spent hours on the phone and numerous emails coming up with a plan.

It started with a '69 roller that I picked up in Virginia last winter and have spent the last 9 months collecting parts for the build. However, digging into the car earlier this summer I found that it was not a suitable starting point for the project and went looking for a new roller. Frank Foster stepped up to the plate with a clean roller that fit the bill and it was shipped up to SCR a couple weeks ago.

Now, how do I get all my accumulated parts to Connecticut from Geneva IL. Well, I shipped them in the original '69 shell that I'm giving to Matt as a parts car for any SCR projects in the future. Win - Win.

Chassis Details:

SCR's hand made flares to cover a set of 8x13 ATS Classics

Custom nose support to house intercooler

Body re-inforcements

Rear 3-pt belts

In-trunk fuel filler

Scheel seats with replica Alpina fabric (matching rear seat),

Wool headliner

Perlon felt carpet

Battery relocate under rear seat

Bulk-head connectors for EMS

I've attached a photo of what we are shooting for visually. The color, as of now, will be Porsche Bahama Yellow ( http://www.audettecollection.com/306607/ ) with a satin black hood/trunk.

Engine Details: Coming Soon! hint: 2.2L M10 Turbo

I'm pretty stoked and it should be a fun process.

ps - Frank thanks again! You saved the day with your clean shell.

The wheels in that computer mock-up are at least 15"

You should have some made in that size.

Your right on the wheels. The 13's will definitely look smaller that what's in the computer mockup.

ATS used to make a 9x15 (or still may), but those would just be too wide.
