2 M10 engines for sale

SCBOB

Recommended Posts

I am selling my BMW 2002 engines.

The first one is a complete running motor that is still in my car. I will pull it out after the buyer sees and hears it run.

This motor has about 3k on a full rebuild that included

-Mahle pistons and rings

-New bearings (main/rod)

-New valve springs

-3 angle valve job

-Top End Performance 294 cam

-New timing set

-New oil pump

-New water pump

And the list goes on!

Also I am going to include the following,

-38 Weber (manual choke) and a canon 2bbl manifold that I purchased new about a year ago from Ireland Engineering

-Edelbrock reusable air cleaner with Weber adapter (don’t like the classic square K&N)

-Used but good Top End Header, no leaks/cracks

-Good but noisy 4spd transmission

-Flywheel and clutch that is in the car

The second engine I pulled out of a ’75 that was given to me about ten years ago. The owner left it on my friend’s property and did not want it.

I know it’s good. When I brought it home and gave it fresh gas, it ran better than the car I had been driving for years!

I replaced all the gaskets (except head), and painted the motor due to heavy oxidation.

This is a long block.

I am only selling my engines because I am converting to an M42/5spd combo.

I can email more pictures if you’re interested.

I am located about a mile and a half off highway 1 in Aptos.

I will also let the buyer look through and take what ever they might need out of my spare parts.

Trades I am willing to do= straight across for used DA M42/M44 supercharger kit (it could happen!?), my engines for cash and a good E21 LSD.

I am asking $2150neg

Please do not waste our time.

your 1st post and i don't like your attitude already...

I am sorry if my ad offended anyone, this was not my intention. Just looking for someone who could benefit from what I have for sale. As I mentioned in my post the price is neg. I feel this is a reasonable asking price and it is for both motors. I think this site is a great and have found it useful on many occassions.

Price seems quite fair - if I didn't have already have a garage full of engine parts I'd be on it (cute little toddler you've got there, btw).

If you'd consider selling the air cleaner separately, please email me as I think it'd be a good item for my race car. (And tell me what you're looking for in an LSD - I've got some parts in house to build one.)

Mike

Right now I am not interested in breaking up the parts. I would really like to see it all go in a bundle at this time.

Thanks Bob

I am not interested in parting anything out at this time. I picked up the weber adapter plate from redlineweber.com, it basically converts a downdraft weber to a 5 1/4 inch four barrel configuration. The air cleaner is from jegs and I popped off the edelbrock logo fairly easily with no marks left behind. However I did have to modify the adapter plate a little to clear the choke linkage.

Right now i am not sure about an LSD. I have a complete E36 318I that I am going to try and use as many things as possible. I have not been able to start this project due to the fact I was waiting to try and sell my engines and wanted any potential buyer to drive it & hear it run.

I was wondering about your 69 1600. Is this something your actively trying to sell or just putting out there. It is starting to look like I may be looking for a rolling shell in the near future.

Let me know

Bob

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
