Heated rear window question 74-76 wiring harness in 70 02

Well it's almost Spring and time for me to get the rear window defogger working.

I did a number of searches here and o google, no luck.

My wiring diagrams (3) show a switch - mine is on the dash marked rear def with wiring in the harness, but I have not yet found the wiring to the window grid. The diagrams do NOT show how the window cycles.; Please tell me this circuit doesn't have a control bi-metallic or timer?

Is this just a switched circuit! I will never remember to turn this off.

it is not a ' timed ' circuit - it will remain on forever

or untill you push the knob back in.

Wires to the back glass are seen in the middle

on both sides - from the C Pillars

Generally tiny breaks in the copper lines

upset the performance
