Might I sugest an drop of oil or penatrating fluid on the heater water control valve linkage.

I'd been hitting the cable or wire, but neglected the pivoting wire clamp to the valve lever. rust had frozen it up and it broke as I tried to take it apart.

Always wondered why my dash control was so limeted in travel.

Thanks to Blunt I will have a replacement "pin" they call it, soon and I won't be neglecting it in the future.
