  1. We have it here in the south on the valley floor, Maybe it will melt off later in the day. Hope no one has to travel I5 today.
  2. Should be a screen inside the bolt, a compression washer on ether side of the banjo fitting and then it just screws into the pump. Are you haveing problems with threading it together or something?
  3. Saw one at a garage parking lot in Phillomath a while back, wonder if it's the same one.
  4. Just a note on the rubber fuel lines, they are higher presure rated then a carbed version. Check out the tii regester..................
  5. Exasht hanger broke and now I have a rattle between shifts and slowing down after replaceing the hanger, so next is a tweak of the system to get it off the spare tire well. Saw a tii in down town Bend last week, any one here?
  6. White 74 outside Crabtree, was that you I met east bound on 99 a few weeks ago? Thought it was the 73 on Brewster road out side of Lebanon for sale at the time. Good luck tracking your short, May help to substitute the fuse with a circuit breaker type while you are looking for the problem. Daryl
  7. My guess and thats all it is, Fouling out some plugs with gas on start up, pumping oil past the rings untill the affected cyls. clean up then burning off the excess oil in the cyls. Maybe try a new set of plugs and see if it improves? Only really good way to check that I know of is compression test/ leak down test. It'll be interesting to see the replys of others on this one. Best of luck.....
  8. Hmm, MacDonald Industrial supply or McMaster Carr? Fasenal probably, but way slow.
  9. Check out "Vintage Brake. com". It is a motorcycle related site, but the information on stopping may help diagnoise your problem. Seems like I've seen something in the past about matching material (lineings) to caliper and drum material. HTH Please post your results.
  10. Great looking ride.. Are we going to get a trip report?
  11. Thanks Ray, been looking at my copy sense I discovered this and can't determin from the pic's just quite whats going on in there. Daryl
  12. How dose the shaft seal when it's warm? Is it an O ring or meatal to metal seat. I have a vacume leak around my shaft even when warm at times and am wondering if it can be lapped if metal to metal. I've tried Kroil soaks and carb/ carbon spray on cleaner with rotation to try and dislodge anything on the surface with no luck so far. Ohh yeah, it dose extend the 9+mm when warm.
  13. Guess I'm a dummy.... Not running, maybe some voltage drain, but no Amps to speak of unless you have some accesssory thats drwing. Running? There should be no drain ether after intial starting draw is replaced Maybe I have misinterputed your quistion.
  14. When I worked in a radiator shop, we used straight acid for clean up and it didn't hurt them. I wouldn't think a solution like you would buy at home depote for brick or swiiming pool cleaning would have a bad effect as long as it didn't sit inside to long. That said...., I'm not sure how you would test for leaks if some rust was blocking a leak or corrosion at a seam or tube was loosened up.
  15. E-mail errors wouldn't let me out. I'm about 10 miles east of 5 at Albany. Supposed to be hot, might pack a couple jugs of water, no more the 10 over in Oregon, or you might be meeting one of our finest. Also change lanes if you find some one pulled over and the blue lights are flashing, or slow wayyy down. Brother got nicked for $350 a few weeks ago around Wilsonville. Daryl 541-812-1725. Be in and out all weekend. Salem is watched and in Lane county look out for dark green sheriffs dept.
  16. I just grabed mine with a caliper looks like its about 0.315". You might swing by a range and see if you can snag a couple spent .32 cases. Bullet dia. for these are about a 313 dia. cut the length you need from the case. Cold weld it in place. Dremil bore.
  17. Thats the reason for plug chops, old school methods. I never felt any indicators so I fell back on the only option I had. Now to much advance, and I'm in trouble, deaf as I am, when you throw in the road, wind and exausht noise I'll never hear it. Have to get my son to ride along and listen. Daryl
  18. Might try Pape' Hyster dealers if you have one close.
  19. ohh yeah, had a fella from the Oregon Vintage Motorcycle Club pick me up some where between here and town, looking to buy and wanted to talk. No idea how many food/fuel stops I've made and had people come up to say "I used to own one of those" or a 1600. Makes up for the guys at the BMW parts counters that give you a blank look when you try to buy some thing for a 74 2002 tii, or worse yet, same look and then say "I don't think they made one of those". Daryl
  20. Thinking through my situation again, I can push through my leanness whitch I shouldn't be able to do if I had low pump delivery problems. I have one of Ingrams 10 light led single wire o2 sensors on mine. My leanness shows up when warm on acceleration or under load while cruiseing. By going to full throttle indications are it will richen up untill I back out of it. It will drop clean off the lean side though I have no sureging. Mine has the 5spd, but even with the lower cruise rpm I think I should have enough steady temp and exhaust flow to give a valid reading. Pug chops done after some long freeway runs seem to be alright if a alttle on the lighter then I would like to see. I think I will try to get to the verticle throttle rod this weekend and inspect it for straightness this weekend. I hadn't thought about the possibility of it being bent and changeing the relationship of the throttle plate as it rotates. Daryl
  21. I've seen a couple posts now by people who have replaced their electric supply pumps with 318i, 320 or 325i electric pumps in an effort to cure a lean cruise condition. I was wondering if the stock pumps were tested and within specs or if they were below or marginal before the change was made. Been fighting a leaning out under light loading on mine for ages now and I'm wondering if maybe I might be loseing presure or volume even though the pump tests fine sitting in the garage. Daryl
  22. Just a guess......is the 60 the first pump (comp stroke) and the 175 the last! Seems a little to perfect...
  23. This one was in Oregons Willamett Valley north of Harrisburg, I thought it might be the one for sale outside Lebanon. Will have to keep my eyes open next time I go by the place to see if some one has bought it .
  24. Good to see another one out there on the road. Great weather to be out there on the road. White tii northbound.......................
  25. Mike Macartney's book, shows start date of Sept-68 through April-71, with 16.448 total produced. Good luck..........
