Putting the distributor back on the motor but the Hayes manual seems rather confusing in where the ignition rotor is to be aimed after drop-in. Can someone explain in plain English. I have the factory shop manual...just can't seem to find it in the house at the moment.

Motor is at TDC.

The tip of the rotor should be aligned with the small notch in the rim of the distributor housing. That'll be close enough to get it started.

Don't forget to set the notch mark on the pulley at TDC and besure you are not 180 degrees off.

But I think you knew that already.
