blinkers work.. but not when lights are on

Had the same issue with mine last week whilst I was troubleshooting the turn signal indicator. It ended up being that during the method of deduction I switched the wires on both the turn signals - to which they still worked while the headlights were off but did not work with them on. Check your wiring to the front turn signals and reverse one or both - this is more than likely your culprit.

cheers,

If the wires are switched, they are actually working you can just not see them.

With the wires switched, your brighter filaments work with the lights and the dimmer filaments work on blinking.

Well I got them to work, but it wasn't that easy....

The bulbs have two connections on their base. If they BOTH are grounded, they didn't work. I had to tape one of the connections on the right hand bulb so it wasn't making contact...

I hooked the blinking wire to the brighter element, the other to the dimmer element...

Seems OK now.

Only blew two fuses in the process... didn't realize it at first and was really getting strange results... like when I turned on the right blinker, both of my rear "side" lights would blink, inside instrument cluster blinker light would only blink once, all kinds of weird stuff..

Replaced fuses, got out some electrical tape, dranks some more, and POOF,

Thanks,

Len
