Salt and Pepper Carpet Sources?

I realized that my confusion with two different "Bimmer Parts" websites. It is the Bimmer Parts (bimmerparts.com) in PA that used to carry some really nice salt and pepper kits, but NLA. Too bad because the carpet shown in your pics from them looks to be a dead ringer for OEM. I have been looking at the Bimmer Parts Co. in MD website. They sell a "gray" Ultimate carpet Kit for about $330, state on phone it is close to original, but no pictures available. Oh well...

ask them who makes the sets for them or where they get them from...they don't make them, they're just a reseller....you pay them, they order from a source like Auto Custom Carpet

Sounds like you have a good deal of experience with these kits. I've asked them to send me a sample of their "black and fawn" carpet.

Ya' know, I gotta say I'm really happy with my Seams Perfect carpet kit. I had decent original carpet in my '02, and I replaced it due to the faded trans tunnel area. The Canuck kit fit and installed as good as the stock carpet. All the edging in place and aesthetically pleasing everytime I look in my interior. The loop he used was nearly the same as stock.

Thats what we strive for, is factory quality. No, we don't use padding pre-glued to the bottom, but either did BMW. We don't bind all the edges, but either did BMW. Our kits are exact copies of the factory sets, including the vinyl flap that wraps around the door opening. I can't understand why all these other companies try to do it differently. Makes no sense to try and outengineer the factory when it comes to carpet.

Cris, do you have a pic of your set installed? I'd love to see it against your Recaros.

i do have a lot of experience with a lot of vendors....and for those of you considering doing business with al canuck, aka al larson, aka seams perfect, etc...be aware he has a long history with a lot of people of collecting money then not coming the with the goods...after he gets your money, his phones go out, his email quits working and you won't be able to reach him unless he wants you to.....

Just discovered that Maximillian Imports also carries a salt and pepper carpet kit for around $300. US supplier and they did not know the name. Anyone using one of theirs??? Their site offeres no pictures unfortunately.
