Hi all

i am thinking of buying these lovely seats for my BMW 2002 1975 and was wondering will these fit in with a little work , i am a pro welder so no worries there.

I would not unless one was 5 foot max (not that there's anything wrong with that) but they are so tall, one will bump their heads.

It's best to go with the E21 Recaros because of the lower base height.

I'm fitting a set of Z3-M coupe seats in my 75, Basically you can lower the seat by cutting out the 02 brackets on the tunnel and frame rail and building your brackets right on the floor hump, being a welder you can weld up some real strong brackets with out much trouble. The key is to make sure that the amount you gain by cutting out the 02 brackets will offset the taller base on the E46 seats as you can't afford to have the seat bottoms much higher (maybe 1") than the stock height.

If you want you can even lower the humps below the mounts for the seats. I am putting E30 seats i my car and had the mounts moved down. There are some pics where you can see part of the mount at:
