started the rollcage

i stared the rollcage this weekend for the M2. I did'nt know how i was going to weld the tops bye the roof so i tacked it all where it was going marked the floor and drilled 2 1/4" holes in the floor so i put it back in tacked it again then droped it right thought the floor so i could weld it . it worked prety nice .i have 1/8" plates that go over the holes anyway .i also put a quick coat of primer on before the cage went in heres a few pics and my daughter playing with the camera

Was that first pic a part of the main hoop? Are you doing a seperate piece for the top portion? I've never seen that done before- sounds like you'd want a continuous piece to avoid any buckling at the weld joint in case of a roll over right?

oh wait...never mind-- looks like you are welding the roof pillars, and then raising into place... my bad!

Good job!! Definetly post pics when its done! What size tubing did you use?

Dropping the cage through the floor seems standard. That's how I've heard others say they avoided chopping off the roof. Very nice work! Also interested in what size you chose. Did you bend yourself? Buy pre-bent?
