Whose profile was this for? If it is for mine, i know that issue :) It is because i am the only person on the site who has a space in his username :)

steve k.

Actually it was someone else's, and I've forgotten now. :-D But strangely enough I checked yours just as a cross-checkbefore posting here!

Hey I wanted a space!

Cheers,

Ray

you can replicate this error using the regular search.

like click 'forum search' and put

jim

into the Search for Author field

It does the die() thing if you search for an author that doesn't exist. Like If I put in _z_ it works fine

AND

if you put jim* in it also works fine - so the wildcards aren't breaking it either

So I think there is a failure when the sql doesn't find an author that matches within the query .. maybe or something like that.

ray: was that user someone who had zero or maybe only 1 post? Or maybe is no longer a member?

More than 1 post, Z. Or I wouldn't have searched it. I went from the main board to "profile." Sorry I don't remember who t'was.

Ah, it was JT. Interesting that his username, being 2 letters does not work. And then I thought I confirmed the error with yours, Steve. Probably picked the only 2 defective users I mean names on the Board!

Cheers,

Ray

(JT bought my tii in '98. That's why I was snooping him!)

ahh. Ya mysql won't do a full text type search (match against) on only 2 characters without some tweaks to the system. When we first set it up I think thats why it wanted a 3 character minimum username (thus the _z_ )

now I might be talking out my arse cos I just tried *JT and JT* and *JT* which I thought should work, but they didnt.

*shrug*
