speedometer interchangability

I am wondering which speed/odo/number faceplate from other cars will fit the 2002. Will the speedo from the 320i work? I may be off to a salvage yard today and will pick one up if so. thanks!

i suppose if you're handy, you can make anything work but the 320 is a larger diameter than the o2

yeah. In my impatience I went to the salvage yard and foun this out thanks though. I think I may be needing a working '02 speedo/odo.

if you have a non-working 02 peedo now, id suggest tearing it down and clenaing. mine was all frozen up but only took about 30 minutes to get it working fine again.

well, im just getting a little frustrated with the ODO fix. I'm having a real time getting the numbers to light back up properly and getting the number wheel shaft back in and working right. on top of that, it seems that the speedo needle is sticking a bit. ive read the odo fix page. any other tricks?

no tricks other than just take as much of it apart as you can, clean clean clean, then use a thin clock oil to lube up- and put all back together -

as I remember you have to kind of go at it sideways - but eventually it just clicks back in. - (its possible mine was just easy, as its a '70) as for hesitating, check your cable as well, make sure it turns easily and freely---and that the ends are not broken off short -
