Starter removal-follow up

On the bracket that screws into the front of the starter (with small bolts) there appears to be a large bolt holding it onto the engine block. Do I need a huge Allen wrench to get that off. Otherwise I cant pull the starter out

Hey Russ, I removed the entire bracket just to give me some more space to get the starter out, this was the part that gave me the most trouble. Break out your ratchet and extentions for this one, it will make it easier.

Thanks Supergeek,

I rummaged around and found a huge Allen wrench to get that bracket off

Got the old starter out

I think getting the new in and re-bolting may be tougher

Plus when pulling out the old starter I hit a wire conected to a sender switch (2 connections at top of motor) and broke it
