Stalling problem, any ideas? TIA

Can you help?

My car starts fine with a little choke (Sometimes needs a couple of trys when cold). But when I'm driving along and stop for traffic, or a junction, the revs drop to nill. I give it some gas and the problem goes away on its own (If I keep the revs up for a couple of minutes).

When the engine's warm the problem disapears, it's just when I'm at idle with a cold engine...

Is this a carb set up problem???

A guy I know mumbled something vague about a worn auto choke on the carb (A Solex, although I'm not sure which one yet as the car is new to me). Not sure if it makes any difference but the car used to be an auto and the previous owner dropped in a manual box, I'm still discovering all of his 'handy work'...

Thanks,

Tim

PS like the new board, the FAQ section is great!

I had the same problem until I replaced my points and condensor with an electronic ignition set-up. This baby is great. All of my idle/staling problems went away.
