I am re-posting my 2002 project.

 

This is a 1974 2002 Automatic with an M42+G240 swap. Below is a very long list of the condition/work/parts that have gone in. I am probably missing some stuff, but it gets you an idea of what this car has. The car can drive, I have not put many miles on it post-swap, it has not left the neighborhood. I would recommend a trailer just because it is not well tested at this time. It is not currently registered, clean title.

 

Asking price is currently $9000 or best offer.

Body/Paint

  • Chamonix paint is in OK condition, probably mostly original with some repair work, could have a good patina look
  • Driver side rocker panel has rust
  • Some trim missing
  • Diving Boards removed

 

Interior

  • Indigo Blue interior is original, seat condition is as you would expect, door panels in good shape
  • Carpet removed, tar still in place
  • Heater Box rebuilt (New seals, New Fan, Rebuilt valve)
  • Center console and AC Removed
  • Needs a steering wheel (Momo wheel shown in photos does not come with the car)
  • No Tachometer (factory), Speedometer does not function (engine swap)

 

Suspension/Steering/Wheels

  • IE 3 and Koni shocks

 

  • Fixed Offset Camber plates
  • Urethane Bushings all around (including rear subframe)
  • New Stock Parts:
    • Tie rods left right and center
    • Ball Joints
    • Wheel bearings
    • Steering Guibo
    • Steering Arm Bushings

 

Engine

  • Rebuilt M42
    • Bearings (360deg thrust bearing)
    • Rings
    • Valve guides/seals
    • E36 style timing components
    • Coil-on-plug ignition
    • E30 Fuel Pump
  • Exhaust
    • Classic Daily headers
    • Custom catalytic converter "midpipe"
    • IE stainless exhaust
  • E30 M42 Radiator
    • Electric fan
  • Electrical
    • Battery relocated to trunk using E30 cable
    • Engine harness connections made using Deutsch style connectors, harness wrapped in cloth tape
    • New battery (nothing special)

 

Drivetrain

  • Getrag 240 5spd transmission
    • Single mass flywheel and clutch (new)
    • e30 driveshaft w/ Classic Daily
    • New clutch hydraulics
  • CV joints rebuilt (cleaned, regreased, new boots)
  • Garagistic Solid Mount shifter (could use some more tweaking here)
  • Classic Daily Engine and Transmission mount brackets
    • Automatic Trans brackets are bolted through the floor due to tunnel differences
  • IE Performance pedal box rebuild
    • Pedal box uses automatic car throttle arm to clear tunnel

 

Brakes

  • All new stock parts
    • Front Right calipers
    • All Rotors
    • All Pads
    • All Drums
    • All cylinders
    • All Shoes
    • Master Cylinder
  • IE Performance bushings/bearings for pushrod
