Aftermarket radiator options for a Neue Klasse

Hello,

The radiator from my 1969 1800 neue klasse has a crack and leak.

Looking for a replacement part 17111103731 or 17111103732, the ones I've found seem really expensive to me.

I've read that 4 cylinder equiped E12 radiator (17111109986 or 17111109964) would fit a neue klasse, but they are just few buck cheaper.

I've seen some aluminium recent fabrication dedicated to later 2002ti that could propose a cooling improvement.

 

Does any one tried to fit a 2002 radiator in a 4 door neue klasse, and is it plug and play or does it need specific adjustments?

I used a 2002 radiator like the one in the picture, but had to fold the lip down on the frame rail to make the lower hose fit.

Finally I get my original radiator refurbished. It's more expensive than an alu one, but cheaper than a new one, and it remains original.
