Sure, you could break out the welder and your sawsall and hack your existing 4-Speed shift plate to work with your Getrag 245 5-Speed, or you can just buy the part you need to do this conversion.  I have a Ireland Engineering 5-Speed shift plate for the Getrag 245 completely assembled and ready for installation.  IE wants over $200 for this piece, but I'll take $150 and ship it in the CONUS for FREE!
