Need e10 glass

I have a few pieces of glass that are scratched. Just checking if anyone out there has a complete set of really nice glass they want to sell? I am looking for the clear version and not the green tint. Also looking for front hood nose trim metal.

The clear glass is out there, but, by circa 1971 (please help me with this date, Mike S.!), in the U.S., Hoffman Motors was ordering 100% of the U.S. imports (or near thereto) with optional tinted glass. Eventually (1975? 1976?), tinted glass was made standard on all U.S.-spec 2002’s. I’m thus guessing there is more clear glass in Europe and Asia.

New replacement glass, however, is often available in both tinted and non-tinted, if you’d choose to go the new glass route.

Thanks Steve. So much to learn, even about glass. Yes, I am seeing most of the cars here in the US with green tint. The glass I have in my car, which seems to be original, is Dura Glas, which is written in white font. The new glass from the dealer is black font. The problem is they are currently out of one of the pieces I need. The windshield in the car says Alpine Glass. Just wondering if anyone knows if Alpine Glass was an original supplier for BMW? Looks like I am going to have to go with a new full set. There have been a lot of good ideas and suggestions here from everyone, so, thank you.

Alpine Glass was not one of the original glass suppliers. Lots of ‘02 windshields have been replaced over the last 40-50 years.

 

My ‘76 (I’m the original owner) came with Duro-Glas everywhere but for the windshield, which was Sigla. At the car’s recent Big Re-Paint (first comprehensive re-paint), we installed a new windshield because the surface had acquired an ultra-fine “mist” of tiny stone chips from 42 years and 100,000 miles of driving (and maybe some tailgating ?), a mist that appeared dramatically when the sun was at just the right raking angle.

 

The new windshield came from BMW, but I don’t know who the manufacturer is, and the car is 700 miles away currently.

Thank you. I see that the white lettering and then the rear (?) is black lettering. It seems like through the years they have changed from white lettering to black and possibly changed the position of the lettering. I am leaning toward replacing all glass, currently one of the panes is out of stock. There is always a twist, these cars are a labor of love. So cool that you are the original owner on your 76. Please post pics when completed. Did you keep American style bumpers or go to European?
