Sold 74 2002 tii at Star European in Orange County

Recommended Posts

I went to inspect this car yesterday. The car is very rust free, but not without faults. The paint is not good !!!  The non-factory inoperable sunroof has a bad fit and the wind deflector was masked off when painting and it. Clearly poor workmanship with numerous door dings and clearly a small rear ended car with a small buckle on the right rear quarter not noticeable on the pictures. The Recaro seats are very uncomfortable. It would need a full respray to have a real nice car, but I wonder why the owner went so cheap. Also the tires are very and and the thread is separating from the tires.  The good stuff, it is a tii and the receipts shoe a rebuild. It has a 5 speed trans and working AC.  I offered 15k as is from the 21.9k asking. They said it was a consignment and they could not do it.  I received a call 15 minutes after I left and they said the owner came back at 17k. I decided to pass again at that price. I think it is good at 15-16k but with transfer to the east coast it is another cost I do7want to do.

The car is advertised currently in the BMW Car Club "Roundel" for $16,500 by it's Owner, Gerhard Fehrmann, San Dimas.

If you could get a hold of him, he may agree to your price.

Looks a decent car in the pics.

Thanks for the information. I spoke with the owner and he took the car off of consignment yesterday. He noted he purchased the car in this condition and was not responsible for the paint. He did say it was tapped in a parking lot.  He is a nice guy and I bought it. So now I have the Black 74 for sale and will list my Fjord blue 76 too.

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
