forgotten your high school latin (or never took econ classes) the rough translation is "let the BUYER beware" (my emphasis).

As has been pointed out by multiple other posts, e-bay is an open market. As long as an item is fairly represented, it's the BUYER'S responsibility to decide what the item is worth to him (her), and determine if the item fits the need.

If I really, really need a part to finish a project and it's worth $50 to me, it matters not to me whether you think it's worth $10 or $45 - I'm willing to pay more for it than you are. It's your priviledge to think (to yourself) that I got ripped off @ $50 - what I DON'T need (or want) is for you or anyone else to get into the middle of a transaction between me and a potential seller who has a part I need and who may decide NOT to sell on e-bay if he's harassed by 3rd parties for accepting the highest bids for items placed for sale.....

.....because I wanted some for the future. When it went over five

bucks........I quit watching. I made a choice. If some guy wanted to

pay that price I guess that's up to him too. He made his choice. I

really don't see a problem here. No misrepresentation. No false

advertising. This is America-we all are given an equal opportunity

to take enough rope on our own to hang ourselves. I, for one,

hope it stays that way. But, Andrew-I do share your amazement

that they would go for that much. I just disagree on who to blame.

And he wasn't the only one bidding. Others were willing to pay

almost as much.

Now ask me how I feel about the guy selling the fake Ti in

Arizona-THAT is misrepresentation and false advertising-jail time

in my opinion.

that most people will see the 0.01 starting bid and place a bid rather than use the buy it now, so it's not really useful to offer the Buy it now option. Gotcha.

Freakin' insano prices that the visor clips are going for?? RIMSPOKE's auction went for ~2x regular price, shit, the clips went for even more money (atleast my auction) and mine in particular was an 851% inflation from where they could have been bought elsewhere! 1.63 ea, vs 27.75 for a pair! No misrepresentation, just the buyers decided to pay that price! I'm not going to stop them.

To me it sounds like you're just some sourpuss that wanted them and feels the need to tell the entire world that you think its so terrible. roll.gif

There has got to be someone at the other end jumping up and down, because he/she came first that day by hitting the return key at the last milliseconds. People can get in a feeding frenzy in Ebay and loose all sense of common sense. I speak from personal experience, I am not proud... Just let the winner enjoy their victory, he is probably feeling very proud...

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
