The car has an old tail (roundie) and new front (squarie), so I suspect his car has been in an accident before.

I'm curious as to how one could spend $1200 on brakes, unless the brakes were seriously upgraded. Replacing the stock brake system can be done for under $600 for parts, assuming drums, shoes, e-brake cables, wheel cylinders, calipers, rotors, pads, and brake master were replaced, leaving about $600 for labor. What exactly did you have done?

Please explain the square front end. I am looking but do not see what your are referring to.

Thank you

George

"Squarie"--US BMW 2002s after April 1974 had square tail lights and a large set of bumpers, and the grill was made from black plastic rather than metal. The grill in the images, along with the two, rectangular holes in the front fascia below the grills, through which the larger bumper shocks connected with the front frame rails, are both indicative of a front fascia from a 1974 or later car. Since the seller claims the car is a 72, it's reasonable to believe the roundie tail is correct, while the squarie front fascia is a replacement.
