Finished the winter project. Rebuilt transmission (including a new old stock fine spline output shaft to replace my fubar'd course spline ($900 list price, $30 on ebay!!! Thanks to jerry for pointing that item out to me), new clutch, throughout bearing pilot bearing, pressure plate, resurfaced flywheel, oil pan gasket, shimmed oil pump, rear main seal, and some tune up stuff as well. Took her out for a spin today, oh what fun it was to ride! Yeehaw!, I mean ho ho ho!

Steve - do you have any spec data on the step when resurfacing the flywheel? Mine is in the machine shop right now and we're stuck for a spec on the step thickness. Any info you or your machine shop might have would be appreciated. Thanks

I don't recall specifically, but there is info on the site about that, I'll try and search it out as well and then repost. In my case my flywheel had never been resurfaced before, and you could see some remaining ring from the original machining, i.e an area where the clutch did not wear the flywheel. It matched within the specified range, so I suppose you could copy that dimension. Does yours have a similar wear pattern? If I find it, I'll let you know via this post thread.

Actually, looks like Mr. Williams beat me to it. As I recall after reading that, the dimension I measured was roughly .020, or there abouts, using a digital micrometer
