I want to start doing welding repairs to the floor pan sections and rockers

How much of the interior do I need to remove. Can I get away with just remove the one side of the car( seat, carpet, centre console) space is tight in my small garage to store stuff

What is the best way to remove the black tar that holds the insulation done?

What is the point of those big round blanking plates on the floor pans?

Remove it all trust me. I had some nice 2002 chairs in my bedroom for a few weeks last time i was working on my interior, but its worth it.

Use dry ice to remove the tar (do a search on it)

As for the hole plugs, iirc the body was painted through a dipping process, and thats where the excess paint drained.

if you ever plan to have window tinting put on your windows, cover your windows up too. i did some interior welding and then when the weather got hot, i had a shop put tint on. they asked me over the phone "did you do any welding on your car's interior?" i say "yes, how did you know?" they said "we put on a layer of tint on the back and theres dozens of pits on the glass"
