Question for POR-15 gas tank guys

I am about to use the POR-15 gas tank renewal kit on my tii, and was wondering what the best way to plug the hole where the sending unit picks up gas from the tank would be. I don't want to accidentally get it blocked off. Thanks.

I just used duct tape. Seemed to work fine. Once you get that stuff in the tank keep it sloshing around to avoid globs.

ONE WORD OF WARNING ,

AFTER YOU USE THE MARINE=CLEAN AND RINSE OUT THE TANK ,

BE SURE THAT IT IS BONE DRY BEFORE YOU LINE IT .

ANY MOISTURE IN THE TANK CAN CAUSE A REACTION WITH THE SEALER .

I KNOW IT SAYS THAT ON THE CAN BUT I TRIED TO LINE ONE THAT I THOUGH WAS DRY , BUT WASN'T .

NOT ONLY DOD IT NOT SEAL THE TANK PROPERLY , THE CAN EXPLODED AFTER

I POURED THE EXCESS SEALER INTO IT AND TAPPED DOWN THE LID .

IT MADE A BIG MESS , BELIEVE ME .

WHEN I DO THEM NOW , I LEAVE THEM UP IN THE ATTIC FOR A WEEK

BEFORE SEALING THEM .
