Tightening Valve cover: oil leak

I could be wrong, but after reading a few of this poster's latest posts, I interpret his use of the term "valve job" to mean valve adjustment. This is distinct from what most of us associate with the term, e.g., removing the head and lapping valves . . . .

Oil forms at the gasket above cylinders 1 and 4. So it's coming out at those two locations. I used silicone at those locations, no effect. I have old style nuts with the washer attached. A friend suggested using two gaskets. i don't believe the cover is warped. i had the valve gaps adjusted btw.

do you have wave washers under the nuts? could be sumthing very easily over looked.
I don't have the wave washers. I've ordered them and should receive them on Tuesday. Even though i've tightened the nuts, could not having the washers make that much of a difference?

I also went ahead and ordered a new cover just in case mine is slightly warped. That arrives on Thursday.

Thanks.

You ordered them? Seriously? 6mm wave washers can be had at any hardware/autoparts store...

Well i went to Home Depot and Osh Hardware and called a few others and no one had wave washers. They were cheap from BMA and i got them today. Also picked up the new valve cover and i love the silver. Going to remove the existing black one tomorrow.
