Urethane Differential Bushing Install Direction?

I've got the new two piece urethane bushings from Ireland. They have a skinny side face and a thick side face. Does anyone know which way faces the front? The factory bushings didn't seem to have more on one side than the other.

I had the old one-piece bushing from IE and they were a bitch to install, but, if you don't get an answer on here, call Jeff Ireland on Monday and ask him.

Yeah I would call him, but I've got the car in pieces right now and need to get it on the road by tonight. For what it's worth, these slide right in!

did you get them in? iirc, it is fat side forward. i can go out to the shop and look at mine if you need confirmation.

Thanks sir! I went the other way, skinny forward based on pictures I found from the "old" version. Everything went together without a problem so I *assume* it's okay. If you're poking around tomorrow and don't mind, I'd be interested. Otherwise I'll call Jeff on Mon and see if there are any issues w/the way I did it. LSD's are fun =o)

only really makes a difference if having it skinny forward prevents you from moving the diff far enough back for the driveshaft length. if you got it all in and aligned fine...they are good.

Everything bolted together with no wrestling. So that's good to know. Man it's nice to not have a whiny diff! 5spd next weekend!

I am (or rather was today). Great facility. They just got a whole new set of tools and finally got to organizing them. I just wish they were open on Sundays =o)
