Short Stop Circuit Breaker?

While at work, I left my lights on and my battery went dead. I proceeded to get a jump from a friend, and without checking, he connected the cables to the wrong posts. I noticed a wisp of smoke and yelled, "NOOOO!"

Now my speakers don't work.

The stereo works, but I have an Audiovox amplifier connected in between the battery and stereo. This does not seem to be getting power. I think a hidden fuse or circuit breaker (?) might be the culprit. A short section of the amplifier's power wire goes from the positive battery post to a small square block (http://www.surplus-electronics-sales.com/Zencart/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=6&products_id=86) and then continues on into the passenger cabin where the amplifier is located.

Could this circuit breaker have been tripped when the car was incorrectly "jumped"? Should I just buy another one and see if that fixes it, or is it more likely that the amplifier has just been burned out? Thanks in advance for your help.
