I'm 6'1" and have to sort of reach down and forward for every shift. Thinking of finding a taller shift knob. I have the original 4 speed.

Thats a nice knob........,used by many racers...and priced well. But I cant really see it in an 02.

I went about 1 inch taller than oe w/ an oe shaped knob made out of black corian. I can also get them in delrin. It keeps the look of oe...but taller.

about 110.00 each. I get them custom made.

another option is to use a VW style screw on extender...I think Mojojoy has one.

Interesting. What is your source? I'm in the same boat as the OP.

I like that black corian shift knob and the flat prototipo steering wheel. Too bad you couldn't get the corian knob threaded so that it would screw on. Looks killer,

taller shift levers/knobs make for longer and less precise shifting. if that is not a concern for your application then no big deal. a better way (and cheaper) to shorten the "reach" to the shifter is to bend the shift lever down and to the left slightly. this moves the whole pattern to you and does not negatively affect the shift feel.
