Wheel Stud Size?

SeanH

Recommended Posts

I've upgraded to 320i brakes up front. I want to buy some wheel studs for this and like the Apex kit quite a bit.

Anyone know what size I need?

What size are the old ones? MM width X thread pitch? 12X1.25 or something like that?

I'm at work and can't quite remember, but the hubs from a 320i are threaded right?

Thanks!

Pressed in studs for the rear? Did you upgrade to discs in the back?

If I'm using 320i drums in the back, can't I just use the the hub with studs thingy that I pulled of the original brakes (sits right behind the castle nut)?

Yes, I have discs in the rear and I needed longer studs. I upgraded to forged rear stub axles as well.

If you're running 320 rear drums and wheel cylinders you should be fine with the stock rear hubs/studs. Did you check your rear stub axles for rust and wear? If not CD will give you a tongue-lashing (they like to break just behind the axle nut).

Cheers,

Mike
