December is just a few weeks away and as you know, our NT49MD rally around San Francisco is the 2nd Saturday in December. But unlike most years, we have 2 (!) routes planed. Here's the deal: last year most of us were rained out, although the skies cleared before lunch. But 3 cars completed the route. So most of you can drive last year's route (as if it were new) and for those 3 cars, should they rally again this year (they're stalwarts so I bet they do...), I resurrected our route from 2020 with a few changes.
We will start at the
50 Moraga Ave. parking lot (at Graham Ave.) on the South end of the Presidio Parade Grounds (San Francisco 94129), just like last year-- this is for either route. Gather by 9:30 AM for a driver’s meeting and plan to be underway by 10:00 AM. We will finish near an Off the Grid location where you can buy from a food truck for outdoor nourishment; choices may include American, Mexican, Indian, Singaporean, Filipino, Fort Point Beer, coffee and cold treats.Since this is San Francisco, be prepared for roads that are steep, narrow and maybe both (be sure your brakes are good…). Matt Brown did squeeze his X5 through last year (remember, the weather was somewhat rainy) but his pickup truck would still be a bad choice! A narrow road with cars parked on either side means an Isetta would fit comfortably.
