Welcome To The New And Improved Faq!

Welcome To The New And Improved Faq!

And we are ....Alive!

Welcome to new and improved FAQ. A lot of things are new and a lot has stayed the same. Almost all posts and topics have been preserved. Yes we lost some due to database corruption on the old site.

Look around, use what you want!

We now have Gallery, Video Sharing, Personal Messages, Blogs, very good Classified Section, Chat, Garage, Groups for all the local chapters, Calendar that is better visible and integrated with Event's forum, members Map, Feedback and Status Updates.

Enjoy it all and let me know if you find problems. There probably will be a few.

Thanks Steve - this looks great!  I can't imagine how much work this was because I'm not an IT guy, but I can imagine it was a lot.  THanks for your dedication to this site!

Hi Steve--

Thanks for your hard work rejuvinating the FAQ site!  I noticed you found our new logo and posted it atop the BayArea 02 Forum-- thank you!

Really nice redesign Steve, I really appreciate all the hard work you did! I'm familiar with web-page designing a little bit, and I know that it is not easy..

Yes, I'm surprised that he got all this done so quickly! I was expecting much more bugs & problems after the new design, but it's actually running fairly & quite well.

How can I follow posts in the same way that I used to follow them ("Your Posts")?

I think that is broken at the moment. Lost in conversion. Trying to see how to resolve. But you shoudl have no problems following new posts. Also check your Settings for notification set up.

As for the old posts that each of us were following; yes, it looks like we have to re-"follow" each one. No big deal......it was time to clean house anyway.

That brings me to another question: Is there a setting somewhere to automatically "follow" threads in which we post and/or author?

As an old timer who was on the 2002 list many years ago, I'm happy to see this site, which has becoome the main 2002 site, upgrading, though I didn't have any issues with the old version.    Well, maybe the search function didn't work well for me.  I'm not an IT guy, though, but do know it was a lot of work, so my congrats to Steve and anybody else who was involved.

A couple of suggestions...

Maybe it's my old eyes or my laptop, but I find the light blue and light gray text on a white background to not be so easy to read.  That combined with all the white space seems like too much....lightness?   Of course, if there's a way I can customize it, I obviously didn't find it.

But then again, thanks for keeping the site going!

Thanks for the new site! Its going to take some getting used to but I think I can get the hang of it.

I just realized there is a reciprocating saw in the FAQ logo lol

Cheers!
