  1. It is traditional to keep the valve parts separate and in order using a plank with eight holes drilled and numbered. Rocker shafts have always pressed out easily for me (must be good karma?). My cam removal spring press is home made but it works. Have fun with it and let me know if you need any small parts to complete the project. I've disaassembled many, and assembled few.

  2. Here in Santa Cruz you need an environmental impact report to dig a post hole, and a permit to set the post (No joke. I heard it from a county planner.)

Changing our roof shingles, toilet, or circuit breaker are all outlaw behaviors. My neighbor was busted for "outdoor storage of personal property".

Sorry for the off topic, but it makes my blood boil to live in a place where it is impossible to get through the day without breaking some law.

New this year dogs can not be left alone in the car. I hate the nannys, now my dogs do too.

  3. The jack points are there to support the weight of the car. The frame rail where the subframe is attached is very strong but you can not put the stands there until the subframe is removed. The frame rails under the floor will collapse unless the weight is distributed by use of planks which introduces a safety problem.

The need to avoid supporting all that weight on rotten areas is just too obvious to mention.

  4. I hope Jerry and dubois are correct, but I'd say the decision should be based on the points where the front panel is welded to the frame rails. Not visible in your pics.

Frame rail to front panel is structural and hard to repair. Pic shows need for cosmetic valence repair.
