Cool. Gonna see about putting a few bucks in Rob’s jailhouse account.
I just tried that but he's already at his weekly limit. Someone must be taking care of him. According to the court calendar he is due to be sentenced tomorrow but it also says a pre-trial conference is scheduled which doesn't make sense if they are already sentencing him.

So sorry to have found this. No idea what's what, but there's bankruptcy, civil suits, family issues, and a SWAT team involved. Hoping to hear better news in the future. Rob was an awesome individual when I knew him better years ago. In 02s we trust.

Yikes that was about this time last year. I hope he's ok.

Okay, bumping this after totaling up the votes so far. We have:
1 Fjord
1 Ceylon5 Chamonix
1 Bristol
1 "Experience"/Patina-might have to cost extra1 Verona
1 Colorado - the model already looks like Colorado so....
2 Baikal
2 Polaris
1 Inka
1 Riviera
1 Octarine -- not a factory color, RAY! I'll have to check with House of Color for this one.... =p
1 Granada
1 Malaga
1 Atlantic
1 Agave
I am going to postpone this project because we are going to move later this summer and the current place doesn't really have a good spot to do a mini-paint booth operation. It would be out in the driveway or backyard and that is no good for paint work. Feel free to vote if you haven't already. As of now the leader is obviously Chamonix, but they already sell the model in a "cream" color, so that is a hmmm... My personal preference would be to do a Schwarzie because of the challenge of doing black which would force me to perfect my technique before tackling the other colors. Still looking for the most cost-effective way to get the correct paint codes mixed up for this application.

I already have solidworks through the kindness of strangers so to speak *cough* so I'm all good there. Just was wondering if anyone had drawing/model files they could/would share. It's really amazing software, and super powerful once you wrap your mind around how to use it...

I've started learning solidworks and of course immediately started thinking of modelling an 02, and 02 parts, etc. I searched and found some old threads and was wondering if anyone had some stuff they were working on lately or etc.
EDIT: I started with solidworks because I want to design and build a custom trike for me and Jenna. Something like this but proportioned for me in the back (giant person) with the controls and her in the front (small person) with the best view (and I can keep an eye on her). She still has balance issues so I want it as low as possible and ideally fully suspended. Her brother has a HF tig welder and I want to build it out of 6061 aluminum. Anyway, as I was going through the tutorials I of course distracted myself thinking about 02 stufff.... ;-)

I picked up two of the Hasagawa plastic tii models in 1/24. One will be in Atlantic. I will see about getting either Malaga or Agave. There is a firm called Zero Paints that does a two stage system and could likely match the colors. It needs an undercoat of Tamiya or similar primer as it is a 'hot' paint. In the US, Zero Paints are available from Hobby World: http://www.hobbyworld-usa.com/Store/index.php?id_category=1123&controller=category
The only item missing on the kit are the door armrest that can be scratched from plastic.
I'm still looking for a supplier for the paint itself. I think it would be cool to use real automotive paint and get the actual paint codes mixed up. Any (more) suggestions on a quality supplier at reasonable cost would be appreciated.

Hey everybody, I purchased a boatload of the little 1:24 scale "orange" 2002s and have sold some of them to some of you already! I have always intended to customize some of them, and am about to order the paint to do so. I thought I would start with schwarz because a) I love schwarzies and b.) the challenge of doing black. But, could you all chime in as to what other colors you'd like to see? I want to do ALL of them eventually, but figured I'd start out with most popular ones and work from there.
Thanks in advance for your input!

Forgot to say, 40-50k just for parts...
-
Back 20 years ago, you could count on $40k for a total restoration, realistically. Nowadays, I'd add at least 10k to that number.

I've been working with solidworks too! Until I got distracted with Blender, anyway. So much cool software, so little time!
