  1. Thanks for all of the comments to my questions. I can’t really pick one as the correct fix. This site is the best. Everyone is so helpful. When I get my starter on Monday I’ll give it a go. Hopefully the K-Fish pump is good to go. @John76 your drawings are the best!!
  2. @Mark92131I have the Bosch Ref Coil. 1.8ohm.
  3. @John76does anything change on the diagram change since I am using a74’ Tii motor?
  4. Thanks @Stevenc22 just ordered one.
  5. @Stevenc22, it would be out of stock at IE, go figure.
  6. @Stevenc22is this a standard part number? Would Ireland Engineering have this rotor?
  7. @Stevenc22, if there is a built in limiter is there another wire that gets connected somewhere? I have the 1.8ohm yellow wire and red/black wire and the black(tachometer)wire identified. Not sure if I have anymore loose wires in the engine bay.
  8. Thanks for the information @Mark92131, I'll never forget that.
  9. @'76mintgrün'02I'm not sure what distributor is on the motor this motor is one I picked up from @kai month ago. Where do I find the model number?
  10. Ok, thanks for all the replies from @Mark92131 and @Stevenc22 I'm going to ask the newbie question, what on the rotor points to the #1 position?
  11. I’m setting up the distributor on a 1974Tii. I have the cam and crank at TDC and TO in the viewing window. Based on all the posts I’ve read I’m at TDC(see pictures TO is blurry). The distributor body spins but the orange rotor on top dosen’t. Does that mean it’s on #1? There are no markings that I can see on the distributor. After #1 is set where do the other spark plug wires go?
  12. I got up early this morning and decided it was time to put the new Tii engine and transmission into place. The recommendations from the forum were invaluable. Mostly using pilot screws to bring the subframe up to the chassis. Not sure if it would have worked without them. Now it’s on to the wiring of the engine compartment putting on the new fuel lines and getting the dizzy set up correctly. A lift made the job easy.
  13. @lunarkingdomI’ll let you know if I can’t get the dimensions from the template I’m getting. Thanks
  14. Dave, I appreciate the offer to borrow yours. Will you be taking the sunroof headliner off of the ceiling frame also? If not I can work around it. I will take care of the shipping charges, @Mike Self mentioned that the best way to ship it is sandwhiched between 2 sheets of cardboard.
  15. Not sure if this is the correct place to post this. Does anyone have Item #4 Ceiling Frame for sale or *Loan*? I inadverntantly misplaced or had the dreaded thought "I won't need that, I should be able to get another one moment"and threw it away. *Loan* I have an aerospace sheet metal fabrication company and could easily scan and laser cut this item for myself and anyone else if I could find the dimesions. 54129434109 Ceiling frame
  16. @Mark92131It better😅, I'm modifiying the original air box to fit. That looks like the only change I'll need other than moving the washer fluid resevoir to the pasanger side inner fender. My last wiring problem is the handbrake and blake fluid resevoir sensor. I'm not sure if Pin #5 on the gauge cluster is sending out 12v.
  17. I finally got my engine bay wiring complete. Just need an alternator and starter installed and I'll be ready to drop the 1974 Tii on the subframe, then some Tii accelerator linkage. Then on to interior wiring for the dome light and door switches. Thanks to @John76 for all the wiring drawings and @BMW 1600-2 for Tii wiring information.
  18. @JohnS thanks for the extra ground tip. @Conserv and the pictures. I didn’t get around to cutting the section out. Do you know if there are any reproduction ‘74 takes available? I’d rather do that than cut. Then I could sell my current one.
  19. Just spoke with the previous owner about the tank. He had to replace the tank during restoration and never test fitted the tank. So that clears up any confusion on my part. On to cutting. I’ll post some photos when I’m finished.
  20. @Son of Marty @bergie33 we can all agree that the tank must be from an earlier car or a euro model. Either way I’ll cut out the area today. I believe the previous owner had to replace his tank when he started his restoration, which was never able to finish.
