  1. I made a plastic sleeve with your technique.
  2. Thank you so much for the tips. I have capped the nipple and ran the new hose from the tank.
  3. Is that not a good place for the filter? somebody els suggested moving it to a position after the pump
  4. Okay I removed the return valve and replaced the hoses. Here are a few pictures so tell me what you think. One thing I did not ask was how much torque to give the hose clamps. I made them "snug" but not tight.
  5. I am ever so grateful for your help, Thank you.
  6. I used a section of the original hose and clamped it with an 8mm bolt as you suggested. I think for now I will bypass the whole fuel return system. I assume the fuel hoses are something I can buy at Autozone? is there a size or type I should ask for?
  7. I noticed that too I guess I need to buy some hose clamps and replace some hoses this weekend.
  8. For now I will probably not use the return system. Was able to make the leak stop by disconnecting the return hose at the tank. Now I just need some way to cap it.
  9. What can I do to make it stop leaking in the interim. Can I just cap it at the tank as a stop gap?
  10. So will this stop leaking once a certain amount of fuel is drained from the top of the tank? I do have a resperator
  11. Okay so this is the fuel return in this picture of my gas tank? I filled the tank yesterday and not this is leaking under neath the car.
  12. Thanks for the advice new fuel hoses are on the to do list for this weekend.
  13. Thank you and yes the color is AmazonasGrun
  14. Ha I guess I posted in the wrong place. One more time!! Glamour shots from the last couple of days.
  15. A small sampling of the glamour shots I made over the last few days
  16. When I bought the car last week the Clardy AC was not working and the unit was making a certain tapping noise. Last night while driving around it is now making a noise like the belt is slipping. My question i can I just remove that belt. I mean it doesn't run any other component of the vehicles operation does it?
  17. @jb2002tii upload a couple larger pictures of the car so we can check it out
  18. @TobyB@Mark92131 thank you so much for the advice. Although I am guessing the valve is not working as I currently am experiencing hot start issues.
  19. Thanks for your input but that was not my question. I was asking how, or rather why, other owners do not have the fuel return installed on their cars. Steven
  20. Thank you so much for the maintenance advice. I have literally had the car for one week so it will take some time to sort all of the tasks that need to be performed. Steven
  21. I appreciate the insight, however as I study the many engine compartment photos online I have yet to find one that still has this fuel return installed. So how are these other '02 owners preventing the hot start issue? (by the way my vehicle is already had to start when warm. har!)
  22. So sorry to be absent from this discussion for the last couple of hours but it was G+S time as in the evenings I spend with my wife. After seeing the diagram posted earlier, I noticed this sticker in the engine compartment which seems to confirm that the fuel return was indeed part of the emissions control system for the '74 2002
  23. It's a '74 base 2002. So there were smog laws on the books in California in 1974 but the car is now smog exempt.
