  1. I was given the name of GAHH Automotive in LA by a friend that said they specialize in older European car vinyl and leather. I spoke to then a few months ago and they said they have the patterns to make Turbo seat covers. I believe they quoted me about $1200 for the 2 front seats. I did not purchase them but at some point will need too to get the car to where I need to have it. They said they actually create the pattern by heating vinyl material. They stated they have done Turbo seats in the past. I did not speak to them with the level of detail and knowledge that some of you here have. If anyone is going to order seat covers, maybe we can put a larger order together as a group and obtain more favorable pricing. Also, please make us aware of any further information if you locate someone to make you the seat covers.
  2. Hi All- I am right at the tailed of having 5 wheels stripped, straightened and powder coated. We did get one wheel test painted and it looks about as good as anything I have seen after browsing many pictures online. We could not find any reference of an official record with regard to a color code, or even a specific color of the center. Also, there was no specific color of the silver. i am not sure anyone knows what is correct. It seems that the center should be a semi gloss or satin finish. Once I get the wheels back I will post pictures and I will post the powder coating code we utilized. By the way, mu second car wears the turbo optional alloys. they are in really good shape but at some point I will have them refinished and will be searching for the accurate colors. I have only seen one other car around with the factor 13x6 factory alloys. If anyone knows of any of these for sale or alloys for sale, please let me know.
  3. Does anyone know of a source in the US for all the under hood stickers on a Turbo? I found one set that says there are 17 stickers...is this correct? Does anyone have scanned images of the stickers? Thanks!
  4. Does anyone have knowledge of the color codes used by the factory when they painted the Turbo stock steel wheels? It looks like the center is dark gray, but is the outer silver Polaris or some other silver? Any help would be much appreciated.
  5. Thanks dlacey. I took it all apart but the round white bezels will not turn. i am using quite a bit of force and none of them will budge. How difficult was it for you to release yours?
  6. Hi Joe, Thanks. Let me know what you are asking for it. I would definitely consider it if the price is reasonable, since I am not sure I will be able to duplicate the red. Also, what part of the country are you in? Thanks- Fares
  7. I attached a picture of my cluster, with and without flash. What I think happens is the red pigment dissipates and turns brown. I also attached a chart of reds and it seems to me that the closest color on the chart is just red. It seems closest to the one above, at least to me. Does anyone know if the bezel separates easily from the cluster and if yes, how? Thanks.
  8. Hello All- I looked through some of the history and threads but could not find any instructions on how to remove only the red bezel from the cluster. How do I remove the bezel only from the gauge cluster? Do I remove the 8 screws on the back of the cluster to get it off or does it just pop off? Also, any help with the correct red color code would be great! Thanks!
  9. Hello- Saw your post when you painted your Turbo bezel. How do I remove the bezel only from the gauge cluster? Do I remove the 8 screws on the back of the cluster to get it off or does it just pop off? Also, any help with the correct color code would be great! Thanks!
  10. Just posting a few pics. I don't have any good ones yet. Thanks to all of you for the responses to my question.
  11. I actually have 2 74 Turbos, both early production. Neither one has elephant skin on the wood panels. I just assumed this was incorrect based on all the 02s I have owned in my life. Now I am starting to believe that they are not to have any covering. They both have what you can call a,trunk mat, which fits loosely over both the panels. Both cars were original Switzerland deliveries. I am going to compare them side by side for similarities instead of differences.
  12. Hi Turbo Owners- Could you please help me with some pictures or links to a Turbo trunk that is properly fitted with elephant skin? I recently purchased some of the elephant skin form Rogers tii. My car had the wrong stuff in it when it arrived but i want to make sure my upholstery guy does it properly. I mam also not sure what to put in the area in front of the oversize fuel tank. when you go towards the backseat, there is a drop off. My trunk has a piece of wood going across there and I am not sure how it should be trimmed out. I am trying to get the car as close to stock as possible, I am taking it to a show in Tampa on November 11. Thanks in advance for any help.
  13. Thank you. I see that the white lettering and then the rear (?) is black lettering. It seems like through the years they have changed from white lettering to black and possibly changed the position of the lettering. I am leaning toward replacing all glass, currently one of the panes is out of stock. There is always a twist, these cars are a labor of love. So cool that you are the original owner on your 76. Please post pics when completed. Did you keep American style bumpers or go to European?
  14. Thanks Steve. So much to learn, even about glass. Yes, I am seeing most of the cars here in the US with green tint. The glass I have in my car, which seems to be original, is Dura Glas, which is written in white font. The new glass from the dealer is black font. The problem is they are currently out of one of the pieces I need. The windshield in the car says Alpine Glass. Just wondering if anyone knows if Alpine Glass was an original supplier for BMW? Looks like I am going to have to go with a new full set. There have been a lot of good ideas and suggestions here from everyone, so, thank you.
  15. Thank you and to the community here, I have had a lot of great feedback, you are all great to help.
  16. I have a few pieces of glass that are scratched. Just checking if anyone out there has a complete set of really nice glass they want to sell? I am looking for the clear version and not the green tint. Also looking for front hood nose trim metal.

  19. I have someone in Europe offering me this turbo, telling me it is for an e10 Turbo KKK unit. I know some of you have a lot of experience and I am just learning, so any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you
  20. Tried to PM you.Do you have catalogue or pricing of what you have for sale? I am looking for from hood trim and rear chrome euro bumper. How much for the getrag? how do I purchase if your pm does not work?
  21. Hi All- Looking for either a complete set of belt trim for my e10 new or a few select pieces. As we wait for production on a few of these parts, I am trying to get my car to a show in early November. Please message me if you can help. Thanks
  22. Some of you guys are experienced with Turbo owners manuals. Recently I purchased one and the print on the pages is raised such that you can feel it when you run your fingertips across. How can I tell if this is a true original manual or a reprint? What signs can I check for and what color should it be? Thanks!
  23. Einspritz, thank you for sharing your vast knowledge. Not to make the issue even more complex, but I live in Florida and the car will not be driven that often. How do I, or do I even need to, adjust for fuel stabilizer, which I would probably use in the car? 90 octane non-ethanol is readily available. I was told 93 octane non-ethanol is also available but I haven't found any yet. In lieu of the 100 octane race fuel type product, would you recommend a 90 or 93 ethanol free with an octane booster additive? Do you know of any source for an exhaust gas analyzer? About a year ago I tried to find one to work on another car and could not find one anywhere. Thanks again for you input. Fares
  24. Hello, Just checking with the Turbo owners here to see what fuel to use in my Turbo. Which fuel do you guys use in your Turbos? High octane? Lead additive? Thanks
  25. While looking around for more info, I found this which seems to indicate other model numbers maybe? https://www.bmw2002.co.uk/history-of-the-02/turbo/ Turbocharger: KKK Model: 11.65-1259307 Lader NR: 189 616 Ausfuhrung: 5637 0 1700
