  8. Hey sorry to post this here I went to the technical area and there is an write up there but the pictures dont match the write up. I just bought a Pentronix 1847V for my 74 02 but it does not look like it fits the counter sunk screw that hold it down looks to be in the wrong area or if i spin it where it looks like it will fit there is something in the way I will post pics.
  9. So I'm going to do this I was lucky enough to source every thing but the carrier brackets and pads in one shot so far. I just bought this car and thought I might as well do it, it has the brake power booster and master cylinder out so might as well do it now rather then have to brake in to the system again down the road. So the bracket drawing doesn't give the height of this bracket meaning from bottom to the top where the suspension will be welded and bolted on anybody know what it is or should I just measure up from the to above the mount and just use that was going to make the brackets before making the car immobile to reduce how long it's off the wheels all thought I don't have wheels that will fit over the disc yet either but any day now I'll pull that trigger. Also anybody know where I can get power booster rebuilt?
  10. I got it turning over went with the bypass method thanks everyone.
  11. Pat are you saying take the black/white wire at number 2 and attach it to the ignition switch prong 50? also the link above isn't working do you know where to go to that info? Thanks
  12. Thanks everyone I'm so excited hopefully this car doesn't kick my ass to bad...lol it did whoever had it last...
  13. So I just got an 74 02 I have that very set of VW calipers I was going to put on a Buggy I got but now I'm going to get another set for my 02. I see where to source the bracket what disc do I need? The buggy has a cheap 5 wide disc conversion from empi which was why I was upgrading the calipers. what size or part number do I need for disc to fit the 02 rears . Thanks
  14. Very cool and I like the flip flops... I may try this in the future.
  15. Thanks better then what I found so far. The trigger wire was on but comes of pretty easy going to try and clean it up see what I get then try and chase the wires.
  16. So hello everybody I'm new. My name is Chuck I'll be honest I'm a VW guy have had 9 in my 28ish years of driving but I purchased a 74 2002 the other day so here I am. It's going to be project for sure not running and brakes and power booster disassembled but looks to be all there. Someone at some point changed the key ignition switch out so when turned on I get lights but then when turned to start nothing I went into the engine bay and got the starter to turn over with a jumper so I have a wire problem I have to run down. I found a wiring diagram on here for 73 and up but I can not read it and when I try to enlarge it it's even worse. So looking for some one who maybe has drawn their own or has one to share that can be read. Looking for battery to key to starter or knows the wire colors anything helps. Thanks I'm sure I'll be back asking more question and I will try to find the answers first thanks.
