I have 2 e24's with 5 speeds, one of which is for parts. That transmission will fit?
-
Just the stock 4 speed it came with. Have an E30 325is gear box but it won't work from what I've read.
The guy that runs the SCCA here on Maui has an e30 M3 drivetrain that he wants to sell, but wants way too much for it.

MTC guibo is already failing, heh. Can hear it ever so slightly grazing shift table. All was well until I trolled a rolling start race on the Mokulele Highway last night against a tuned 370Z Nismo and a blown 67 Charger, to which I destroyed them both. Had just upgraded the fuel delivery system earlier in the day to larger fuel pump and boost reference fuel pressure regulator. Hoping my fuel cell actually ships this time from the mainland because new fuel pump doesn't like to suck fuel from the low fuel tank.
The look of shock on the 370Z drivers face was priceless when he rolled up at the stop light and he kept asking WTF is under the hood, to which I just just smiled.

Edit double post

My last one on hand branded MTC. Hope it survives longer.

Factory bagged as a Meyle but no markings on Guibo. Also notice when I order these, the countries tagged on "made in" vary. This one stank really bad out the bag, oilish and sulfur and a little squishy.
-
Another one bites the dust, heh! Was yoking it pretty hard on 16 pounds of boost. Gonna have to go with solid.

I found a box this morning with 2 round push button flashers that came with car.

My car came without one when I bought it...some customization done by prior owner. Does the switch itself have the relay built into it like an old Mercedes-Benz? Also does anyone have a schematic of this circuit because not even sure if the wires are tucked away or non-existent/repurposed. Thanks

Good grief! Ireland won't ship me their fiberglass one here to Hawaii nor the trunk lid.

From me man handling mine, about 25-35 pounds without hood pad.

I'll dial it for sure after I get the new turbo in. Might have to upgrade my fuel pump, again anyways.
spec on new turbo to arrive any day now. made for 4 cylinders specifically and can make up to 800hp. Wanna take those smug faces off those Asian import race car drivers (not the ethnicity but the automobile manufacturer just to be clear in case I worded it poorly) at the 1/4 mile drag strip and take home some extra cheddar *wink*

Nice work there
Already ordered all the pieces. I thought about what you did, but I keep destroying guibos, and would only complicate future change outs.
Car runs very well, just a little hiccup on transition from idle. Wish I had some sort of hydraulic engine mounts to absorb the vibration, which keeps loosening like everything on the engine.

You could try to use oval shaped piping instead of round.
Follow up on my last reply, found on eBay, mahalo.

taller springs!
If not for autocross, I would.

Where could I find that, that is willing to ship to Hawaii. I prefer stainless.

Currently have 2.5" on my lowered car, and scrape over even the mildest speed bump. Anyone have any creative approaches for clearance aside from creating a tunnel in floorboard, which I'm not against, but would rather avoid.
I entertained just directing it out to driver side fender at one point with my 2.5" current setup.
Have no emission regulations here in Hawaii, nor enforced noise laws. At one point had it dumping straight down right off turbo, but fumes and people pulling up telling me fire kept coming from under car when I would get on the go pedal, heh.
-
If so, care to share some photos? Have a bead on a set of staggered 16", but never seen them on a 2002. Thanks in advance.
-
Alignment was laser true. Turns out the shift table brace shook the bolt loose putting it in the path of rotating guibo this time.
-
Not concerned with noise, vibration or harshness, is being built for autocross and 1/4 mile plus weekend warrior. Deaf after an hour in this thing.
-
Do they still make 8 hole guibos with that string or whatever it is embedded inside rubber? Whatever brand that is, I'm down to buy.
These Meyle dont have it, just rubber.
-
Less than 1000 miles pushing 300-400hp depending on boost.
-
Hmm, over in the Mercedes universe where I'm usually in, the Febi are usually avoided. Meyle and Lemforder brands coveted for the vintage models I possess.
Do you know of anyone running a custom solid aluminum guibo with good results?

I feel as if I was burned on their upgraded mechanical advance distributor which failed within a couple weeks. Opted to not play cat and mouse with it and bought the bluetooth 123 plus distributor.
Also their guibo bolts and locknuts, although a good price, are subpar. Keep backing off.
