When installing the bushings with the blue sleeve, you're supposed to first separate the sleeve from the rest of the bushing, and then press the blue sleeves into the subframe. Once that's done, the rubber should sit fine. If you try to just force them in as one piece, they won't go in all the way and the plastic will start mushrooming out. I've learned this the hard way.

You said to leave out the blue sleeves? I say use them! just don't install them while they're together. EDIT: Just saw your earlier post. I second the method.
