  1. Hi All: Been slow getting Lizzie up and running but electric fan has replaced mechanical fan and am going to fill the radiator. I need a washer tank and pump. Does anyone have one they are wllling to sell or know where I can get a new one? Charlie
  2. Thanks for the help. I had a little trouble aligning the bolts but was not bad. The radiator was in a bad way. I had to move it from where she was living. Now have her home and a new radiator ready to install but the fan is missing a blade.
  3. Thanks will start working on that shortly.
  4. Thanks Halboyles. Am I correct that the limiter is on the passenger side? Do you think it will be difficult to slip the limiter in under the mount without removing the engine?
  5. Thanks. I will try to get it installed soon.
  6. Hi All: I've pulled a Jethro. You know from the Beverly Hillbillies. When he rebuilt the motor and had spare parts. Can someone help me identify this part and tell me where it goes. My engine moved forward and the fan tore up the radiator. Could not having this part contributed to the problem.
  7. Thanks Simeon. I appreciate your help. Am I correct in my interpretation of your post that the harness that I show in my pictures is meant for a different carb then the one that is on my car. Since I have a water carb it will not have a COLD START ENRICHMENT or an AIR TEMP SENSOR (it is not needed if it is there) I do not have a firm grasp on whether or no the coolant temp sensor needs to be connected. My thought is that because I do not have the electric choke the COOLANT TEMP SENSOR connection is not needed. Is that correct?
  8. Thank you John H for your help. I have found the answer to my question on the wiring diagram. Now I need to find the physical components on the car. Should people need to know this in the future I will record what I have found out. The PDF files located at http://api.viglink.com/api/click?format=go&jsonp=vglnk_147483100935214&key=e8bf1b856b17d86c8fa6b0749e6d2f85&libId=itiu2x1i01000cp7000DAbn0mbsgy&loc=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.bmw2002faq.com%2Fforums%2Ftopic%2F183287-wiring-questions%2F&v=1&out=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.2002tii.org%2Fkb%2F246&ref=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.bmw2002faq.com%2Fforums%2Fforum%2F8-02-general-discussion%2F&title=[Electrical and Ignition] Wiring Questions - '02 General Discussion - BMW 2002 FAQ&txt=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.2002tii.org%2Fkb%2F246 needs to be opened with a particuilar PDF file viewer. I used Foxit Phantom on my desktop. I could not get it to work on my tablet. Not that it can't I just couldn't figure out how to do it. From there I found that the Inboard Relay is called "CHOKE RELAY" and marked as 33 on the wiring diagram. The green/white wire goes from 33 and connects to 27 COLD START ENRICHMENT then it proceeds in series to 66 AIR TEMP SENSOR and back to 27 COLD START ENRICHMENT. The Green/Black wire goes to 27 and then to 66. The outboard Relay is called the RETARD RELAY and marked 28 on the wiring diagram. The brown/black wire goes to 65 COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR. If someone could help me identify the physical location of components 27 COLD START ENRICHMENT, 66 AIR TEMP SENSOR, AND 65 COOLANT TEMP SENSOR I would really appreciate it and have my little wiring debacle resolved.
  9. Thanks John. I found the wiring diagram on the site you recommended but the legend for the component numbers is not with the diagrams. Do you have any idea where I might find that?
  10. I have attached a PDF file with some wiring Questions. The diagrams that I have been able to locate don't seem to cover all the different components. Please have a look and help me out if you can. I need to move Lizzie from where I have been working on her and it would be great to drive her away. Wiring (2).pdf
  11. Thanks for the ideas fellas. I will take that apart and get the pieces as I need them.
  12. Hi All: I am pretty new to working on cars and need some help. I have a 1976 2002 and need to rebuild the front end. I am trying to get away with a minimum of money on it because I am using this car to learn on and want to rebuild a roundie to keep. In other words it is a practice car. I figured out the new parts I need except for the end link bushings. I can't find a diagram of exactly what I need. From what I can tell I need 4 washers, a bolt, a nut, a spacer and two bushings. Do I need a teflon cover for the end link itself? Where do I source the bolt, nut, and washers, from the autoparts store? Are they grade 8.8? I am trying to gather the parts before disassembly. Thanks in advance for your help. Charlie
  13. The two choices that I can think of are emt electrical conduit or a schedule 80 plastic conduit. The schedule 80 can be formed by heating it with a heat gun and then epoxy it to the car. The emt can be bent with a bender and then welded. I would be concerned with the schedule 80 being scarred by the cable.
  14. Looking for a Speedo. PM me if you have one for sale.
  15. Interested in washer bottle (and pump if you have one) also front grills. Please let me know the prices. Thanks Charlie
  16. Peter I take it you cut the cable off the drum side correct?
  17. Thanks Guy: That was the first thing I checked and they were fine. Cables are stretched and require new ones but am going to hold off on buying them as I plan on stripping the car in the near future for a paint job.
  18. The Grating state of Kalifornia is making me smog the car. This is my first try on restoring a car. If I like it I will loose money when I sell this and buy a '69 if I can find one but at the least I will get a '74 so I don't need to smog.
  19. Thanks Mike. Took your advice on the 1/4" nipple. Brake cable works much better now. I'm going to be taking the car apart in the next few months so a temporary fix is good enough.
  20. @ Ray. Ok I get you now. @Myltle in the search of the records that came with the car and by looking at the condition they look pretty new. I really need the hand brake so I will do what needs to be done. Where is a good source for new cables?

  22. Thanks for the response Ray but I'm being dense. If I tighten the existing nuts all the way the cable is still too loose. Where would I stack the nuts?
