  1. need someone with photoshop to please photoshop a 2 tone paint scheme for me. just trying it out to see if it looks horrible, or even works... bottom of the car below the belt trim will be bristol grey. top of the car above the belt trim (including trunkl and hood) will be derby grey. if you could photoshop the below car to have the derby above the trim it would be great, as the lower portion is already bristol. and here is a derby car to get that color from: thanks!
  2. he kinda described what it looks like... pics would help with the haters...
  3. funny how all the "don't need possessions" folks all had a bmw...
  4. did i mention that i have paypal ready, and just need to see them before i purchase? the strut housings and coilovers are what interest me...
  5. thanks for all the replies guys. it's not that big of a deal to find it out what the color is, as the car will not be that color when it gets painted anyway... just wanted to find out what it was before it was all sanded away and primered over.
  6. Interesting idea. Know of anyone else who has done this? yes, i have a friend that i race with in NASA that uses this setup in his 2002. he loves it, and it looks a lot more simple than the bmw stuff...
  7. i'll take it. zip is 30533 emailed you also. Cynical_1 - The lowest cost shipping to your zip code is $40 so the total will be $120 USD. I accept paypal via john_sampson at telus dot net. Email me your mailing address. Note, not sure why, but didn't receive your earlier email. John JAS- hate to do this, but i'm going to have to pass on the wheel. unexpected baby fees are preventing me from doing it this week. sorry.
  8. i'm surprised that you are keeping the stock brake setup with the master and booster, especially with all the work already in the car to declutter it... i'm going to use a Wilwood reverse master setup, and totally do away with the stock pedal box and booster assembly. the masters will be under the dash, and you can hide the reservoir there as well if you wish. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/WIL-340-3342/
  9. i personally vote for the dunlop direzzas - DZ101's to be exact. i've had them on my driver/track civic for about 25k miles, 5 track weekends (about 200 miles per weekend), and plenty of other abuse - they still have 4/32 of tread. wet weather traction is fantastic - better than the all season michelins on the wife's car. noise has stayed low as well. they are an awesome and, i feel, an under-rated tire. i'm putting them on my 2002 now, and will get another set for the civic soon as well.
  10. best i have lighting wise... shop has crap for lights...
  11. what color is this? silver, grey, ??? original color of my car. it was hiding beneath all the gunk in the engine bay.
  12. any seats at $400 for a pair i would not trust... there is a lot that can go wrong with a cheap seat...
  13. yes. thought i messaged you. they are correct, and they are a pair. they look great. thanks again.
  14. yeah, not really interested in any of that. thanks though.
  15. send me the list as well please. not really intereted in any engine/trans parts - purely cosmetic. aesthetic or interior right now...
  16. just clicked to join the FB group - didn't know about it. well... my car is slightly more than a shell, but not much. that's ok, because the only bmw in the whole project will be just the shell anyway. i'm always looking for parts, as according to my wife i'm a hoarder. so anything anyone wants to get rid of for free/low cost let me know!
  17. whomever you use, don't use Progressive, especially with an "old" car like the 2002. they will seem great until you file a claim (your fault or not) and then the real insurance company comes out. they will give you BELOW book value, as they use "market value of similar cars" to base their value off of. i had a claim with them regarding a car that i had $21k in reciepts for, and they ended up only offering me $1800 (yes- 1800) for it, with a $400 buyback "since i could resuse the engine and stuff anyway" - even after 2 independent appraisals and fighting them with GA law... i dropped them, and have had USAA since. they are even nicer, and based on feedback from friends that have had claims, really go above and beyond regarding payout and service. NO collector car/agreed value insurance will insure a daily driver. you could perhaps insure him on another vehicle to be his "daily" and insure the 2002 as a collector/weekend car then....
  18. yes, it is a reproduction Kamei - but it is FIBERGLASS, and i would love to have one in the original URETHANE... Why? Pierre's fiberglass one is much better. I have been running it on my daily for 4 years and it is still in great shape. My car is LOW and I've scrapped it more times than I car to admit and it hasn't cracked or broken. His repro is a slam dunk, trust me. It is THICK and totally re-enforced. that is my concern - hitting something and blowing up the fiberglass. car will be a driver/track car, so i fully anticipate impacts with varous debris... plus the originals are urethane... i may still consider a fiberglass, but i really want a urethane one.
