  1. Did you ever find a solution for your issue Skylund? Seems like i'm having the same problem. my post here- http://www.bmw2002faq.com/component/option,com_forum/Itemid,0/page,viewtopic/p,877004/#877004
  2. Hey Stone, Where in Philadelphia are you? The car has had alot of recent brake work done by the p.o. before i bought it a while back. the brake fluid is still nice and clear actually. Leading to that driver side caliper, there are no rubber lines at all other than the ones leading from the reservoir to the master cylinder.
  3. Just got back from a weekend in maryland (3hr drive each way) with the '02. Realized that it was pulling to the right when braking, and there was 10x more brake dust on the left (driver) front wheel than the other. Tonight i decided to bleed the brakes because obviously are was in the left side lines. Did the 3 bleaders on the right side, perfect, no air. Did the rear and side one of the drive rside caliper, perfect, no air. The top facing one however is constantly bringing in air! i checked the lines all the way up and no leaks at all. [below is a link to the video]. I have no idea what to do next or what is causing it, any takers?
  4. and the verdict... just needed a new needle & seat to stop the #3 & 4 leak. He said the carbs themselves were pretty much still brand new, just was left sitting for too long. I ordered his way a new pressure regulator & gauge to throw on there while he has the lines apart, saves me the trouble later on.
  5. agreed. compared to the modern bmw's i've had, this thing is simple as pie to work on ...not an electrical/sensor disaster like the 645ci i appreciate all the help. i'm just having a place looking them over for me now, in case they just need a good rebuild and proper setting. this way it's nothing but a little maintenance here and there with them from this point on
  6. wow so nice and original! i would kill to have one is such great shape ...mine looks nice from the outside but the rust is just hidden

  8. today after driving it across town i opened the hood and found smoke coming out of my right hand side weber... looks like i need a rebuild
  9. thanks guys! i think its #4 that's leaking (closest to the windshield)? i'm going to drop it off at a shop where a guy works on them. i want them to look over the car to see if there's anything else i'm missing.
  10. all my research points to the float. I don't remember seeing a FPR so i have to find out the specs on the fuel pump that's on the car now. i couldn't find any d.i.y. guides on float adjustments, i hope i'm not terribly overlooking anything. I did find a pdf of the DCOE but it doesn't give too much info. I'm i right to be doubting it's fuel pressure because it's only leaking out of one side of one carb, and not all 4?
  11. Hey guys, I'm new to the whole weber carb thing.. the previous owner had them put on just shortly before i bought the car, and i only noticed the issue now after a couple days. My wife said it smelled like gas and now I found out why. Both at idle and driving, only one of the 4 carb intakes is leaking out fuel like no other. I can put my hand under the horn and I can cup it. It just dribbles onto the engine. all the fuel screws seem to be in the same position. After some research I read about the "floaters" possibly being a culprit. But only on one of the two intakes of a carb? Sorry for the ignorance, this has been my oldest car to date and the first issue with the engine. THANKS again
